Memory like a sieve - who's in for Johnson again? :-[ The mighty Fulham.
-
You're a very, very silly man indeed, mate. I'm in my late 30s and have been supporting us since I was 5. In that time I've seen us win one European Cup, one league title, one European Super Cup, and four league cups. Your turn. How many trophies have Liverpool won in the same time? As much as I hate Liverpool, if it was a choice of Villa or them, I'd join them every time. Guaranteed top 4 finish every year, and a real push at trying to win the league. Villa have no chance of that I'm afraid. I suppose if they say that enough times other people will start to believe it.

I heard we'll be signing Bent to replace Johnson.
-
He was "the new Steven Gerrard" 12 months ago.
-
Nor-folk in the north east. No, it's not nor-folk, it's nor-wich. What an absolute idiot. He couldn't string a sentence together.

Told you. Rumours about us signing Moutinho are getting strong in the Portugese papers. Says talks are ongoing with Sporting wanting 25m euros and us wanting to pay 20m. Pini Zahavi is negotiating the deal for us (he brought Yakubu and Fernandes here last year) and Moutinho's father refused to comment when asked about his son coming to Everton. Sounds like it could be a goer.

he does it every f***ing time! and £2.5m for carrick??? is he pissed? (i take it he's talking pre-spuds, but still, thats a random mention) That's straight up. Carrick was waiting for a bid from Arsenal, never came, Pompey offered £2.5m. Spurs gazumped them with a bid of £3m. We could have signed him as well. Moyes wouldn't budge on his valuation of Carrick, think we lost out for the sake of 250k. Don't recall Pompey ever being mentioned as in the running for him at the time so I was surprised by Redknapp's comment.
-
He wouldn't improve you? Eh? He's miles better than Duff, Emre & Milner. I'm surprised Spurs are letting him go and even more surprised that only Sunderland have made a firm offer.
-
Of course he's a fucking hypocrite. He's consistently been one of the worst there is for manipulating the media for his own ends then goes on some moral crusade against Real Madrid for the exact same thing.

I agree, bloody Juventus started this whole thing off, Notts County should reclaim their kit. Being pedantic again. Juve did indeed steal the black and white stripes, but from us. The original Juventus kit design was all pink. However, they had their kits manufactured in the North East of England, and a package of Newcastle shirts were sent by mistake, and they stuck with it. That's not true

Yep. Hull have bought way better than I thought they would. I thought only WBA had a chance of staying up but maybe Hull are a better bet now seeing the decent players they've signed and are strongly linked with while at the same time WBA have lost Gera & Phillips. What happened to the Roy Makaay to Hull rumour? He would be class for them for 12months, hanging round the penalty box and banging them in off his shin and his arse. Could be the difference between going down or not.

Can't understand Spurs selling their best midfielder of last season- Malbranque. What a fucked up club they are when it comes to transfers.
-
Yeah, how stupid of us. Nevermind waiting to get £10m+ let's just sell when the first bid comes in. Who the f***'s going pay that for him though? If Wigan went in at 9, I'm willing to bet they'll pay a little more to actually get him. Yep. Also take into account that several teams want him- West Ham, Boro, Fulham, Wigan, Sunderland and even Villa have been mooted.
-
I'll bet anyone we get £10m or more if we sell Andy Johnson.
-
I hate it when clubs steal the kit designs of more illustrious teams. Wearing some 2nd rate Inter Milan knock off will not suddenly make people think Boro are class. It just doesn't work like that.
-
Yeah, how stupid of us. Nevermind waiting to get £10m+ let's just sell when the first bid comes in.
-
If he's being offered around then I pray that we go for him. Would be brilliant in our side. Who cares how old he is? You need a decent mix of ages anyway.
-
I share your frustrations mate We haven't signed anyone and the only one that looks likely to happen soon is a new 2nd keeper. Joy.
-
We've got one but I never buy it because the internet makes it pretty pointless for stuff like news. The rare interesting interview/feature amongst the usual fluff will probably be posted on some sort of forum or fan site as well.

Totally agree. I remember him getting linked with Barcelona the other year

I always thought this was accepted fact, we were used as a stalking horse. There was no way on earth that Rooney was going to come here, whatever he says. In fact I thought the tale was that Ferguson asked FFS to bid for him as his board were saying they had no money and he had to push them to make a bid. TBH I wasn't referring to the Rooney crap, the thing I found most interesting was the fact that FS's son worked for Stretford's company out of St James' and he owned a large stake in them. You wouldn't believe the amount of incestuous links between ProActive and football people who got involved in the Rooney transfer in some way. Whether it was Dalglish and the gangsters who intimidated his original agent or Freddy Shepard and his fake bid. Even the journalists who wrote all those "Wayne must go for his own development" and "Sir Alex will work wonders for him" rubbish stories. Plus, all the talking heads who came out in the media saying he needed to leave, including Alan Stubbs. They all owned shares in ProActive or had personal ties to Stretford and co.

Once somebody translated that to Warnock he would have been furious

Is Djimi Traore still there? They've got some real horrendous players amongst the quality.
