  1. I'd be gutted if he went to another Prem team. Seen him live twice now and he's fantastic.
  2. We'd gladly take Arteta off your hands. The guy is pure class (tore us apart at the Lane last season). Im aware he hasnt been of his usual high standards lately but how much do you think Moyes would want? I seriously doubt we'd sell to a club like you who are our direct competitors. I can see us getting £12-15m from a Spanish team and if not, he'll stay here. Still got 4 years on his contract.
  3. Erm, to clarify, Owen wasn't being touted for £18m That was just Jo. I'd imagine Owen to be about half that price surely? Arteta was pretty average last season and his attitude wasn't great, supposedly he was playing through injury but I'm not sure. Wouldn't be that bothered if we sold him and bought someone of the same quality although I'd be looking to shift him abroad rather than to a competitor in this league.
  4. Supposedly Moyes has around £20m-ish before any player sales Talk of selling Johnson and buying Owen or Jo for £18m Anichebe is wanted by other clubs too.
  5. Weir was class in the premiership for about 5 years. Excellent reader of the game. He was finished at this level a couple of years ago but he's had a mini-resurgence because playing with Rangers negative tactics in the big games means he can just sit back and do the defending without worrying about getting done for pace and in the run of the mill games against Inverness... well, my nan would look a good centre half.
  6. I'm not sure catering would make up the difference to be honest If you don't want to look strictly as revenue then look at profits, Newcastle 7 million pounds profit, Everton 1 million pound loss... Again despite Everton finishing 8 places above us. They're just not in the same league when it comes to generating cash. It's not just catering, it's merchandise also. We have one of the biggest buffoons known to man running the club, Keith Wyness.
  7. Kenwright doesn't want to sell, rich backers have been turned away including Mr Lerner. Might change with the new stadium about to go tits up though.
  8. Utter bollocks. £10m was the rumour I heard No club could even buy his right boot for that, nevermind our rivals. I've only heard it the once though, hardly a major rumour. The Owen and Gera ones are a lot more widespread.
  9. What do you reckon the maximum is that your lot could pay Owen? No idea. I'd be surprised if we could match £80k tbh.
  10. Strong rumour- Michael Owen and Zoltan Gera to sign for us soon-ish
  11. That Pompey kit is rubbish. Tacky as fuck with all the gold, they never used to have any of that on their kits. Goes well with the cheap looking new badge.
  12. He's worth about £3m. Average player.
  13. Lee Carsley fits the bill. Considering moving back to the midlands with his family, Birmingham fan as a kid, only getting offered another year here
  14. would that be moysey's dilemma? arshavin or fernandes? I think we're just trying to get another loan for Fernandes regardless. The midfield is the priority this summer, needs some major work in the centre.
  15. Moyesy obviously likes him. I think we'll go for him depending what money we've got to spend.
  16. What are the 50,000 or so Glaswegians in Manchester now with no accommodation and no way home tonight going to do? Spoke to a few on the way home and they seemed nice enough people but didn't know what they were going to do, their plan was to go to a pub till closing time and deal with the problem then. Those without accomodation and a way of getting home should have stayed at home. Loads of Rangers and Zenit fans are staying in Liverpool. The MEN had an article about loads of them staying in Blackpool, they may as well have stayed at home, it's f****** mileage. Going to Blackpool is rolling the cup final and summer holiday into one for them

  18. I bet Nick Barmby still won't play at Goodison the little shitbag.
  19. That's been an open secret for weeks
  20. I was in the town centre for the duration of the game. Half of the Rangers fans are a f****** disgrace, they should be banned from Europe. Running battles with riot police all over the place, f****** disgrace. Got some pics on the way. The big screen at Piccadilly Gardens went off, some people said the police turned it off, other said Rangers fans pulled the wires out, whatever caused it, the result was riots and total chaos. The live feed was not working all night, they couldn't fix it in time for the game and then never made a proper announcement telling people. Chaos ensued quite predictably.
  21. We wouldn't pay Owen's wages. Even with a decent pay cut.
  22. ........... amd according to the WH boards Freddie says he won't go unless they up the offer to £6m!! Straight out of the Winston Bogarde Book of Commitment and Loyalty. mackems.gif A contract is a two-way thing. The clubs should never have offered him it in the first place if they weren't prepared to honour it. The WH fans should be annoyed at Curbishley and Magnusson tbh. Yep. Ljungberg has done nothing wrong. When fit he's started pretty much every game and is then supposed to accept his contract getting ripped up even though no circumstances have changed? Everybody knew he was starting to pick up lots of injuries and wasn't as good a player anymore. It's not Ljungberg's fault that West Ham offered him superstar-level wages.
  23. Think he had big problems with his knees in the past, but he always looks sharp whenever I see him play. He usually scores against us, as well. His knees are totally fucked. He failed a medical for us before signing permanently for Birmingham from Chelsea in 2005. Since then he's been injured more often than not and his form has been understandably sluggish. Shame really as he could have been a real quality striker.
