This stadium thing is mad. Other than stoke messing with throw ins years ago a pitch is a pitch. "home advantage" is surely gleaned mainly from your supporters, which won't be there. Stinks of rubbish teams like west ham trying to leverage cancellation or no relegation clauses to avoid the inevitable for them.

It's an interesting question about fan impact and the way in which each section of the fanbase interprets things, particularly in the long term. As a boycotter/protester i like the idea that my actions influenced him, but deep down the sensible part of me knows they didn't and that he sold an asset to realise cash at a time of financial difficulty separate from football. If hypothetically we become extremely successful say in 10 years time under new owners, how will I and others like me reflect on it? I can certainly see the temptation to try and gloat/take some credit, and to resent those who in my eyes did nothing. But equally you can see the more traditional football narrative of the matchgoers in 10 years time saying 'i stuck with the club through thick and thin'. I don't really ever see that divide and argument going away amongst the fanbase and will likely be a lasting legacy of fat mike's reign - especially if we enter into a succesful era.

How are you guys getting tickets in the last couple of days? Applied for loads in the original ballot and got none, had no further chance to get any since - is it just random emails sent out to people who registered now/pot luck if you get offered one?

May be in the wrong thread, but euro 2020 tickets are out 12th june. Want to apply but never tried for big tournaments before, not sure if any tips or need to know in advance for trying to get decent ones i.e. not in Baku.

Heard that interview and thought he spoke sense. He said ashley wouldn’t sell unless he was losing money - so the only realistic hope the club has in getting rid of him is to see a good plummet down the leagues ala Leicester and Wolves. Nothing else will work. People will still go to games and buy the shirts, and unless someone does the fat cunt in, he’s still going to pick up decent exposure for his tat emporium - even in the Championship. That's my point though, change the rules so the money - the tv, the tickets - are his, but can't leave the club for his own ends. He'll still be making money but he can't take it anywhere. Then he will fuck off, paving the way for a new style of pl club ownership.

Would this work/make sense? Govt & FA follow the chi debate by introducing a rule that says all the tv money is distributed on the strict basis that it is spent for the club and evidence is transparently shown as to where it goes i.e. staff, stadium costs, wages, transfers, youth facilities. If a club wants to and is able to separately generate commercial revenue through sponsorship fine they can, but the big sky bt gravy train is ring fenced cash. That keeps money in the league and the game, keeps status quo so city etc dont reject it, but stops the parasites like ashley and maintains at least a constant and equal degree of growth amongst clubs. I'm no accountant so someone will probably find an easy work around/say its bollocks

Perhaps overly ambitious, but is there any chance of this group looking to identify/encourage a buyer for the club? Whilst i fully support protests, the endgame here is someone paying the fat man 400 mil. It would be good if supporters could be involved in that somehow, rather than him being driven to hand the club over to the venky brothers.

The ticket system is a bit of a farce. For members online thee was a 2 ticket maximum for bournemouth game. I needed 3 so rang up box office - transpires there was no ticket limit so i got 3 in the leazes end.

They're different people though. Everyone I used to see before or after the game, and a couple that I used to sit with have now all packed it in. i completely agree - the old crowd of even a few years ago are largely gone. The only solution in my view is a consistent movement against attendance, not only boycotting from the more enlightened amongst us but that group actively discouraging others to attend. Viable alternatives for entertainment, not just protests but actual football would be needed with a sustained message that we fuc*ing hate what we are watching within st james' park. Constantly lapping it up is exactly what they want. Will it make a financial difference? Short term no long term maybe, but at least it would state the point that we are not lemmings waiting to be ar*e ra*ed every sodding week.

What a ridiculous point that is. Pardew made Krul the number one, Pardew turned a defence consisting of the Taylors (both massively criticised by fans in the past) and Danny Simpson into one of the tightest defences in the league. The other member of that back 5 he made captain, and Colo has subsequently revelled in a leadership role. You say "look at those players he has got to work with" yet most people's expectations of him as a manager and the squad at the start of the season was bottom half at best. He has done fantastically well and would do a hell of a lot better if certain fans stopped being so bloody pessimistic. He is not the best in game manager and frequently gets things wrong but so does everybody else. Get off his back and just enjoy one of the better teams we have seen walk out at SJP before Ashley wanders in with his sledgehammer again to ruin it.
