  1. Seems to be a lot of misunderstanding based on that telegraph tweet. It doesn't mean PL can't legally challenge. It just means that (well, qatar are briefing) they think the evidence leaves any case as having no merit or no grounds. It isn't saying they are denied right of challenge, just that they would lose. Again, all just qatari briefings to that effect.
  2. Might have missed this, but what is the link between mauriss/qatar 2022/bein sports? Is his company a sponsor or something?
  3. We obviously don't know for sure if the PL take any notice of Qatar/bein, but the level of influence they think they can exert and have done in the past over the world cup is absolutely nauseating.
  4. People really aren't understanding this at all. Going on as if the contents of this report are some sort of surprise to the parties involved and like this is a moment of revelation because the press can finally read and quote it. The PL and those involved had this report over a month ago. It says bad things. The question is whether the KSA/PIF response can either evade it by "not being involved/not same entity" or they can offer resolutions to resolve the issues in the report that (again) they have already had for ages.
  5. The premier league have had the WTO report for over a month. It has since been confirmed that talks remain ongoing/questions asked. Waiting for its public release to say no doesn't make sense. More likely it will continue to be used as leverage.
  6. I'd still just like to know what happened on 20th May and what then changed. The PL were seemingly in receipt of WTO draft before that date, so it surely can't have been that.
  7. PL effectively saying we'll give you the club you want, if you give Qatar everything they want. Its easy to see beoutq being shut down/already happened, but the whole legal remedy for what has gone on is surely unrealistic? Perhaps they are negotiating some kind of settlement of that.
  8. Very confused. 11th May Guardian report the premier league have received 'documents' that essentially prove the piracy. They don't say what those documents are. 20th May George Caulkin is saying all the 'unofficial' confirmation and "you're probably fine to celebrate but i'm waiting until its all confirmed". Greg on here on about cans in the fridge. Something, perhaps from the buyers, was clearly released around that date that was positive. The only intervening event between then and now, was the guardian revealing that the piracy link was from a WTO report (a document they describe as being in the PL's posession for a couple of weeks i.e. their 11th May article). So since the positive comments, nothing new has actually happened has it? Or as i say am i just extremely confused? I think all that is why people are quite expectant of it happening week commencing 1st june or very soon, and will likely be a bit deflated/distrustful of that earlier news if it doesn't.
  9. It reads to me as this is the mysterious info the pl was given earlier in the month that everyone got their knickers in a twist about. The guardian is really just confirming what that was - a wto report. Could be wrong but the line about pl having received it 'this month' is telling.
  10. Christ the delay alone has me utterly depressed and melodramatically questioning whether i can even be arsed with football any more. Keep the sharp objects away if this actually gets blocked!

    Euro 96

Went on itv hub and it isn't there
  12. Doesn't the shakhtar donetsk training ground have lakes, black swans, an aviary, all sorts of stuff like that? Maybe the consortium need to get in and work out where to put the lake.
  13. This stadium thing is mad. Other than stoke messing with throw ins years ago a pitch is a pitch. "home advantage" is surely gleaned mainly from your supporters, which won't be there. Stinks of rubbish teams like west ham trying to leverage cancellation or no relegation clauses to avoid the inevitable for them.
  14. Where did coutinho play when amazing at liverpool? Was it left side cutting in/where asm plays?
  15. It's an interesting question about fan impact and the way in which each section of the fanbase interprets things, particularly in the long term. As a boycotter/protester i like the idea that my actions influenced him, but deep down the sensible part of me knows they didn't and that he sold an asset to realise cash at a time of financial difficulty separate from football. If hypothetically we become extremely successful say in 10 years time under new owners, how will I and others like me reflect on it? I can certainly see the temptation to try and gloat/take some credit, and to resent those who in my eyes did nothing. But equally you can see the more traditional football narrative of the matchgoers in 10 years time saying 'i stuck with the club through thick and thin'. I don't really ever see that divide and argument going away amongst the fanbase and will likely be a lasting legacy of fat mike's reign - especially if we enter into a succesful era.
  16. Is there any way to watch the england game again if you missed it? Seems to have disappeared from iplayer/website now
  17. May have been mentioned but saudi money controls sheff utd doesn't it?
  18. If you don't like their spineless approach, cancel your membership to stop them being able to parade around as if they are representative of the real fan base. At present they get to say "look at us we have 10,000+ signed up members, please can we help you mike with more free ticket and mug giveaways".
  19. Is the stuff on twitter etc accurate about ashley's son in law being involved in the purchase/development of the st james park land?
  20. Are there any reliable injury records around? Was it physioroom that was decent? Would be depressingly hilarious if someone could track the injuries under benitez v bruce. Might help convince the 'great day out' gang what a dinosaur bruce is.
  21. How are you guys getting tickets in the last couple of days? Applied for loads in the original ballot and got none, had no further chance to get any since - is it just random emails sent out to people who registered now/pot luck if you get offered one?
  22. When is the season ticket renewal deadline? (For the purposes of working out when this bullshit will end)
  23. May be in the wrong thread, but euro 2020 tickets are out 12th june. Want to apply but never tried for big tournaments before, not sure if any tips or need to know in advance for trying to get decent ones i.e. not in Baku.
  24. With those shirts, i have a number 11 (mcewans lager 93-95) one framed and signed by all the players and manager/coaches. Does anyone know roughly how much that sort of thing is worth? Its not got any authentication certificates etc
  25. Heard that interview and thought he spoke sense. He said ashley wouldn’t sell unless he was losing money - so the only realistic hope the club has in getting rid of him is to see a good plummet down the leagues ala Leicester and Wolves. Nothing else will work. People will still go to games and buy the shirts, and unless someone does the fat cunt in, he’s still going to pick up decent exposure for his tat emporium - even in the Championship. That's my point though, change the rules so the money - the tv, the tickets - are his, but can't leave the club for his own ends. He'll still be making money but he can't take it anywhere. Then he will fuck off, paving the way for a new style of pl club ownership.
