well base your vote on your belief of what he will do. It's Mike Ashley we're talking about, I couldn't even hazard a guess at what he intends to do.
-
Would be easy to knee-jerk and hit the "no ambition" button on the back of the Carroll sale, but frankly it depends on what he intends to do with the money.
-
Will prove to be a good signing.

David Craig said "doing all they can" - his interpretation, not the official club statement. The club's line to this point has consistently been "NOT FOR SALE". David Craig is the mouthpiece of Llambias though. If he knows that the bid has been rejected, why couldn't the club tell them 100% not for sale, instead of allowing him to imply that we could negotiate. David Craig is the mouthpiece for Sky Sports News, he'll put forward the side of the story that attracts the most interest.

That, quite frankly, is a lie. You're missing Carroll and Ben Arfa from you're best XI through injury. We have almost an entire team missing. Tiote? Taylor?
-
Exactly. Guy's a 24 year old footballer, don't think "wise financial investment" is top of his list of priorities.

Jonas is a half decent outlet. He can hold the ball up and relieve pressure, win free kicks etc... However, he isn't the type of winger we need if we want to push forward as a club. His work down the left flank with Enrique was very important last season, and he's had the odd moment this season, but if Ben Arfa returns with even a degree of his previous ability, I can't see any justification for keeping Jonas in the team ahead of him.

Yep. I have no idea why anyone would want to play him centrally. Likewise, I have no idea why anyone would want to play Nolan in an advanced position and Ireland in a deep-midfield role.
-
To be honest, value is relative to the circumstances of the selling-club, not the transfer fees that have been paid for similar players.

Done so well? If any of them (bar possibly Best for the Wham hattrick) had had their shooting boots on when they deputised for AC we would be sitting here with 4 more league points and possibly still be in the FA cup. Their lack of shooting boots didn't cost us those last minute goals. I was led to believe a win was worth 3 points regardless of how many goals you concede? Eh? You could easily invert that to "a win is worth 3 points regardless of how many goals you score". Regardless of the performance of the strikers, it was mistakes at the other end that cost us points, as we had both games about as close to won as possible.

That formation that isn't real? Wow.
-
10 Goals! 10 Goals 80% of which have came when he's been playing in midfield, not when he's been playing up front.
-
eh? so you would have him further back int he midfield where he offers nowt and cant keep up? Complete myth that, like. 8 goals from that position is not "nowt", for a start, and he's pretty decent at keeping the game ticking - certainly better at that function than Ireland who I've never seen have a good game playing from deep... Our midfield has rarely been overran with Nolan in the middle either, contrary to popular belief.
-
Nolan as a second striker doesn't work. Ireland up top would make much more sense. Yep. I'm not sure why people are overlooking the fact that Ireland is better in that position than he is in the center of midfield.
-
The league table disagrees. The two games against each other would be a better measure So lets get this right,2 games is a more accurate reflection then 20 odd games? 38 games would be a better reflection. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
-
Think it's more to do with his own confidence issues to be honest. He's shit scared of Premiership full-backs.
-
No it wasn't, he's looked unmotivated and lack lustre in previous games. Today he actually looked our best midfielder out there which suggests he can only show up in games where the midfield battle is less intense. How was the midfield battle less intense yesterday?
-
Was he in the middle or on the wing? Middle, one of either Lovenkrands/Ameobi were supposed to be playing on the wing in a 4-5-1.
-
I thought that his substitutions were a bit off today, Ranger should have replaced the ineffective Best and Ferguson should have replaced Guthrie with Jonas moving over to the right. I don't have a problem with playing Perch in defence but where was he playing today? I genuinely have no idea where he was supposed to be playing. To be honest, I thought he held the midfield position reasonably well for a defender and even supported the attack a few times.
-
I'm sure we've all entertained the thought... But it feels wrong to talk about it.

Jose Enrique. Well, yes, but Simpson was clearly backing off his man too much this game. I suppose I am expecting a bit too much of him to play like Jose mk2 but still :/ Pretty smart move from Redknapp, earned them a point in the end. Should have had more cover for their goal though. Pardew possibly could have had Enrique follow Lennon across. It's not like Lennon would have forced him onto his weaker foot anyway, since he cut inside every time.
