How many other good teams have they struggled against in the last two seasons?
-
Good, Aguero has been in pretty s*** form lately. Up there with the likes of Drogba, Villa and Torres as the best striker in the world, don't you know? He's a very, very good player. This constant criticism of him is quite idiotic. Correct. In a better team Aguero will excel, he's struggled this year because Atletico as a team have struggled.

Messi is nowhere near as bad as Ronaldo and Drogba for general gamesmanship malarky.
-
Wow, we're 9th in the table already. Or 2nd bottom, if you want to look at it differently.
-
Enrique played at least three awesome through balls that I can remember off the top of my head. All of which came after mocking the opposition winger as well.

Jesus, mother Mary and the Easter fucking bunny, I nearly had a seizure when I was looking through this thread on my phone and saw all the YouTube videos on the previous page... Then I realised that Dave was lurking, so now I'm assuming they're all okay.

Changed the title. Calling our local rivals "The Scum" makes me feel like a Mackem.

Benfica terrify me. They break so well and with such pace. They're supposed to be a much better side at home, so I'm pleased we've escaped that with a draw and the away goal. We've lost to the eventual champion two years running, so maybe it can actually be our chance to win it. Yeah, Di Maria/Saviola/Ramires in particular are frightening when they go forward. I wouldn't be surprised to see Di Maria on the left wing for Man Utd next season, actually.

Enjoyed the Benfica/l'OM match. Could easily see either of those two teams going on to win the competition.

I don't think anybody needed to be told any of this, to be honest.

Taylor and Colo already had a (vague ) understanding going into this season, though, aswell as a pre-season. Williamson and Colo probably don't compliment each other aswell, but i wouldn't put it down to a difference in ability (between Williamson and Taylor). More just playing time. I disagree with that like. Colo has looked a better defender alongside Williamson in the games I've seen.
-
Comes down more to the ever-declining legs of our central midfielders, I think. From what I've seen, Williamson looks a better central defender than Taylor and also a better foil for Colo. I'd like to see Taylor at right back.

This thread is almost Parky levels of rubbish.

Good game that. Lucio was immense.

Did Carroll glass you or something? Him and Lovenkrands were working well together, if we'd stuck with them we probably would have scored. Carroll did absolutely nowt in the first half bar win a few headers. He created the best chance of the match. That would be Ranger's chance. Get out. Taylor had a free header three yards out, centre of goal. It was inches away from crossing the line man It may not have been an easy chance to get on the end of, but was by far the biggest. Thought Ryan Taylor's one on one in the first half was a bigger chance than both of them tbh, considering how much time he had.

Scrap the right wing. Robert, Guttierez and Enrique all down the left, from front to back. Win.

Played with a black one the other night in a game of a side, half 9 at night with dubious floodlights.. could hardly see it. Useless. If you read the first post, then the second one with out looking at what Greg quoted you may be thoroughly offended. I know the above post isn't racist, but can we ban Nixon for racism while the opportunity is there?

If he feels he's made enough money and simply doesn't enjoy the game and the media attention anymore, I don't see why he should have to feel obligated to keep playing.
-
He doesn't need a suit, he needs a costume. With a cape.

Without meaning to sound like Dave's parrot, can you cut the txt speak out please? http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,19167.0.html

Was it fuck Mowen, you're blatantly having a nervous breakdown you over-reacting sensationalist muff.

And yet a lot of the people who are complaining about him wanted Shearer appointed...

Didn't exactly have much help like. Him and Forlan were as anonymous as each other because Atlético's midfield (and defence, of course) were woeful. Aguero has shown enough in La Liga over the past few years (and last year's Champions League) to show that in a better team he'd be pretty prolific. Although Forlan had very little to work with in terms of actual service, he was still on the ball a lot of times and helped build a fair amount of attacking movements (which all seemed to break down on the flanks). I can remember Aguero touching the ball about three times in the final hour of the game. Good players, really good players, ones that are considered 'world class' tend to be able to at least be involved in a game where it's going against the team. He looked no different to any of the other poor players they had out there today, that moment of sheer brilliance that the likes of Drogba, Torres, Ibrahimovic, Villa etc can provide in a game going against them never looked like arriving from Aguero, because he wasn't near the ball. I do think he's a good player fwiw, just definately second (or probably higher third) bracket in terms of the strikers there are out there. I thought he had more impact on that game than Forlan did tbh, created two good chances for Maxi and had a couple of his own. Forlan hardly had a kick.

Should of done a lot better with that chance he had in first half. Low on confidence probably, like the rest of the team. I think people forget his age.
