  1. This has been done to death. “Haway” was once as common as “Howay” amongst Toon fans. Some modern fans still use it. There are reasonably recent photos of banners at St James Park with “Haway” the lads EDIT: NPW, plus Stifler beat me to it
  2. https://www.newcastle-online.org/forum/index.php?topic=104158.0 Rafa 81 Poch 19
  3. Not sure why, they have kept up spending with everyone in europe and it's the managers that have let them down, if anything hes trigger happy but I dont think he would have that power at Newcastle Supposedly not got the players the managers wanted as they are too expensive, and then overspending on 2nd or 3rd choice for a completely different position on more commercially marketable players. All while cocksucking the Glazers. He is terrible Have to say everything I’ve read supports James’ view - Woodward seems to be more responsible for the decline of Ferguson than the string of managers they’ve had. I’m sure Froggy has shared some ridiculous anecdotes about shovelling cash at players the manager didn’t want, refusing to sign players they did, etc This is a guy who had Lois van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, and more money than God, and managed to build a player roster lights years away from the “glory days”
  4. With his method of planning, he takes on a lot of the DoF responsibilities. If we’re going down that route, and going with Rafa, you’d like to think Rafa would have input into who the guy is (so they can work together) and has clearly defined boundaries for the manager and DoF roles.
  5. Everyone who doesn't play for PSG
  6. I have trouble buying that. "Yeah, all done, we'll just wait an extra week before telling anyone". And I know they have to transfer the money, but why set such distant date?
  7. Yep. Then nothing tomorrow then it's a long weekend. Before we know it we will be in this same stalemate next weekend. I'm 100% out like i just can't picture it happening, I really can't. Hope I'm wrong like but that's the strong feeling I have. Stop fucking lying, you're all in like the rest of us. You're sniffing around this thread like a broke sailor outside a whorehouse.
  8. It's almost inconceivable that they would. In fact, I can't believe the response would be anything other than "Dear Love, Soz, but it would be wildly inappropriate to discuss this with you."
  9. Valid point made in the replies - why is Talksport posting reminders of when their presenters were utter twats?
  10. Yeah none of them score enough goals though. Would look amazing running and dribbling, but in terms of end product ? I think the "proper striker" bit is key. Say Ronaldo 96-97. Have you just plucked possibly the best season from one of the three greatest players of all time and said "that's what we need"?
  11. Obviously he's had very good success as manager at Madrid, but for some reason I get the feeling that he's successful there because he knows Madrid's unique psyche. If you've got a Madrid god like Zidane telling you what he expects from a Madrid player, that's going to have an effect that won't work anywhere else. And I know that leads into the OGS/Man U thing their fans have debated. But a) OGS is not Zidane in playing stature and b) Zidnae has also demonstrated some tactical and strategic prowess. I'm curious to see how Zidane goes at a club other than Madrid (or Juve, because he would have the same effect there), but maybe somewhere other than the Toon. I also say that because I'm firmly Rafa > Daylight > anyone else

    Footy trivia

Wasn't Raducioiu before Djorkaeff? Or overlapping? I still remember Raducioiu being fantastic at USA94 in an amazing Romania side
  13. Zidane link been posted for half an hour and no one's come along yet to say he's not good enough? Letting me down, NO...
  14. He’s garbage, Championship level at best, he’s only useful (to us) because he’s physical which sums up the state of our club and parts of of our outdated (English-centric) game when dinosaurs like Bruce (and big and strong crappy centre-forwards like Carroll) still stink it out. The fact he gets game time now back at the club today long after he was first sold tells you (or should), everything about the sorry state our club Ashley and co have let it become AMG the melt of a manager in charge of the team. It’s a shite state of affairs Tommy! Feels like this quote needs to be put on the crest
  15. In that time the Toon have gone from Bremen to Nurnberg
  16. Was reading the other day that Pirlo says Tonali will be a better player than he ever was. Bold claim...
  17. Well they are 2 different entitys More that it's a silly link - he's not going to sign, takeover or not.
  18. Seems Zaha is like one of those (hundreds of) players who is too good for Ashley-NUFC and not good enough for PIF-NUFC
  19. Part of me thinks he's being malicious, running the players' fitness down and getting us relegated knowing he's about to be sacked. But then I remember he's just fucking incompetent.
  20. HTT, you make some sound points here, but too often you state facts that haven’t yet been established. Such as: Now, I’m 99% certain this takeover is going through, for all the reasons you say. But your statement is not a fact - it’s unlikely there is evidence linking PIF to piracy, but you’ll look a right dick if an email chain emerges between MBS, PIF, BeoutQ and ArabSat laughing at those Qatari cunts. I also note there’s no mention of Sheffield United ownership - again, I don’t think that will be an issue, but to say it absolutely won’t be is dubious at best...
