  1. Always knew he had no real intention of selling the club, he's been talking shite for 10 years. Hardly think he's going to want to sell up with the rights yielding as much moolah as they do, especially when he's taken the gamble of hitching himself to the sinking ship of House of Fraser .

    Sunderland

And yet... CURRENTLY THE MANAGER OF SUNDERLAND AFC... There's some sad sack that is so keen to have a no-mark as manager they've rushed to edit the Wikipedia!
  3. Given that club's recent history of humourous nomenclature-based appointments, I wouldn't be surprised.
  4. Maybe I'm misremembering things but it was a bit of a punt when Chelsea appointed Vialli initially but it didn't work out too bad initially? Other examples like Dalglish, Souness spring to mind...TBH Keegan wasn't a big name manager at the time he was appointed here the first time around. It might well work out for Arteta/Arsenal.
  5. I might be wrong, but if they appoint Arteta I see a train wreck on the horizon, probably not last a year. Curious to know the basis of your assertion there? What is there to suggest he wouldn't be successful? or that he lacks the skill/nous to succeed?
  6. There's no way Rafa would leave us to go to West Ham, is there? If he goes, it'll surely be to a premium European team, surely? I honestly think he loves the Toon Army too much to end up at West Ham.

    Jlloyd Samuel RIP

Hellish for his kids. RIP Jlloyd.
  8. This. Although I was hoping for a big screen cinema viewing somewhere.
  9. Glorious So glad I popped in here to catch up on this thread. EDIT: By the way, Stiffy, kudos to you for standing your ground in the face of some horrific slagging, let alone having the balls to write to her directly. Daft as a brush.
  10. Almost like it vindicates Fat Mike's miserly approach to squad investment, innit? I'm delighted with the result, not least because I was so convinced we were due a humping that I was in the organic aisle at Waitrose with the Mrs when Ritchie scored.

Bit daft to write off Bournemouth on the 24th of this month. Cos we're good enough to defeat a team that thrashed Chelsea in their own ground. Yeah, that'll be happening.
  12. The usual anti-NUFC bias from the Sky commentator there saying van Aanholt was ex-Sunderland "of course". He also played for us, you dolt.
  13. Was hoping we'd score a goal today. Shame. Won't waste my time/money going to the pub to watch this one in that case.
  14. Oh how I wish we were in a position where we'd gone from potential Champions League qualification contenders to become regular relegation candidates, shit on club legends, employ Joe Kinnear, Alan Pardew, and Dennis Wise, deliberately lie to and mislead the fans, spend fuck all on players, sell our best players, regularly get humped in the cups, get relegated twice, turn the stadium into an advert for the tackiest, cheapest shit imaginable, change the name of the stadium, force out players who've just come back from cancer treatment, and lie and lie and lie and lie. Oh to dream!

  18. You're thinking of David Icke. Here's Knighton who tried to buy Manure (think for about £30m or so!) I thought this bloke was Michael Knighton?
  19. Antony Stokes has been given the boot by Hibs. I think we're sufficiently desperate to give it a try: https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/hibs-release-striker-anthony-stokes-from-two-year-contract-1-4677924
  20. Christ, I hate it that I'm agreeing with you.
