I'm fairly sure MA was complicit in the 8 year contract. Nobody farts in that place without MA knowing about it.
  2. That stat doesn't surprise me at all. I know that on any forum a certain momentum can build around particular opinions, but I'm baffled as to exactly why there's such a gap between the view on here and how Colback is assessed by the majority of supporters and by the professionals at the club. I don't want to get into a pointless 'he's decent - no, he's not he's shite' type debate. I would agree though with tgarve that our main problems are elsewhere - particularly the defence. He's nowhere near good enough for a starting spot in the middle of any top sides midfield imho. There's not a club above us where he'd get a regular game.

The Times had us going for McClaren as well in yesterdays paper.

    NUFC finances

Very surprised to see the final profit figure. Just hope somebody high up in HMRC is a staunch NUFC fans and decides to investigate them.
  5. Mark Douglas running an article on him at the minute with one of those daft vote things the Chronicle do. 86% saying his signing has been a success. Don't see it at all tbqh. He's totally ineffective.
  6. Turn it over and it says 'JC woz ere wiv Sir Bob'.

What gives you that level of optimism? My view has always been that if we're not even going to complete in cups/challenge for Europe then the very least we should do is play attractive football. McClaren has never had a side do that.

And we could do a fuckload better.

If, and it's a big if, he comes in (I think we'll stick with fucknugget now) it'll only be because he's willing to work with the wankers on the coaching staff. He'd only bring one assistant with him. Garde, very sensibly, would have wanted to clear the cunts out and that would've cost too much money for the current owner.

Steve McClaren is the equivalent of a lifeboat with a hole in it. Aye, I'd rather him than drowning under Charver but fucking hell, he's hardly the long term answer. A sure fire route to mid table and manky 'football'. No ta. One of the foreign applicants might stink but at least they'd offer some hope of change for the initial period. Schteve is more of the same without the PR ability to bullshit the southern press, a la Pardew. Again, there's a good reason he's plodding along in the championship.
  11. I wouldn't say Poyet was blood and thunder at all. Also Di Canio's team picked us off by being more controlled and exercising caution/patience. It was the silver haired cunt who sent our lot out with the wrong mindset.
  12. That's an awesome piece of puntage.

It also suggests that any new man would have the current staff forced on him - that's not likely to go down well with many decent candidates. This is why Garde sacked it off IMHO.

I wouldn't be best pleased with McClaren. But to say he falls into the same category as Bruce is comical. Which team above us would swap him for their current manager? There's a reason he's managing in the championship.

Absolutely would not want him. One of the top 20 richest clubs in Europe appointing some championship no mark. No ta. He is, at the very very best, bang average and in the same group as Bruce etc.

    They'll stay up for sure.
  17. More shocking propaganda from the Evening Heilacle.
  18. Yeah, he's certainly above Debuchy for me and probably better than Beye too.
  19. "That one over there boo's all the time Mike. Can I ban him? Can I? Purleeeease"
  20. DoL will be the new Director of Football working with Carver. You heard it here first.

Loki - nobody in their right mind would have John Carver a job running a premiership football team. The fear is that these morons running the club are totally capable of making that call. When the ambition is survival, they will feel they can chance him and save money in the process and still achieve their aim.

Yup. Stuck in the routine/a need to feel like they belong to something can be the only reason people now attend. There is genuinely no reason otherwise to attend. A shell of a football club nowadays. And all he had to do was show some fucking ambition. So easy and yet so fucking unlikely.
