Cringed a bit reading about the inspirational quotes posted around the area which I get massive Karen home decoration vibes from Other than that though, what a job Howe has done. He's definitely in the mix for manager of the season imo. I did like the "Never be too big to do the small things" quote though, but would prefer that to be an ethos of culture instilled into the club/squad rather than being displayed as tacky kitchen decor.

Agree that the CL and european competition is shit these days. The bare minimum should be a guaranteed place in the CL group stage for every team that won their domestic league. Couldn't care less that fans of 5-6 teams and neutrals might find a few matches not interesting or assume them to be less competitive than if they played a 3rd-4th placed team from a bigger league.

Feel like crap today thanks to browsing that account for an hour past sleeping time last night. Was worth it.

Must have misunderstood you. Thought you were talking about them staying up, but ending bottom, not that they would aim for consecutive promotions.
-
I haven't seen very much of him tbh, but that's my impression at least. He seems like an upgraded version of your Jack Colbacks/Tom Davies . I hope we get someone stronger and faster in midfield.

I'm tired of listening to fans singing Hey Jude after every fucking match these days, but the alternatives to easy songs everyone can sing along to isn't great so when thinking about it, it may not be so bad after all? We could be looking at a scenario where we're having life is life on repeat.

Teams that get promoted to the championship historically has a decent chance of staying up. The last 10 seasons I think it's only been one or two seasons where 2 of the newly promoted teams have gone straight back down. 2 seasons none of the promoted teams got relegated and the rest 1 of the promoted teams went back down.

Bruno and Paqueta would do well together in any midfield composition.

Impossible to say. It depends a bit on how you define "start" really. It also depends on how we play, not only the results, and how the transfer window goes. If Howe gets good backing in the summer, but we open the season, say 10 first games, Bruce style both in terms of results and performances then I won't be upset. If we lose the first 2-3 matches and he's sacked I'd be quite upset as he needs to be given time to bed new players into his system. If we're flirting with relegation spots after 5-6 games but we've been playing good football but been let down by individual mistakes and/or poor officiating I'd also want to give Howe more time. Too many scenarios to give a definitive answer, but in general I want Howe to do well, and I hope he gets the opportunity to turn things around if results are below par.

Think Howe said in a pre-match interview not so long ago that they had received a response from the FA, and that he was satisfied with it.

This was my impression as well. Don't think they will get the results they need if they set up and play the same way they did against Liverpool against lesser teams. If they want a recipe on how to stay up they and their fans should rather look at their game against us and Man Utd for their home games against Brentford and Palace. The atmosphere in the stadium must have been awful for us and Man Utd to play in, while inspiring the Everton team to put in those extra few percent of effort to grind out a result.
-
Didn't see highlights of the Chelsea game until now. Glad to see two out of two of those stupid jumping penalties were missed this round.
-
I think you'll stay up thanks to the atmosphere and fight you've shown at home basically since our game against you. You showed the same against Man Utd. I didn't get to see the Leicester game though but those two games, if you can replicate that against Brentford and Palace you should be safe. Hope you don't take some of the comments on here personally! For the overall quality of the league everyone is better off with Everton staying up imo, but I reckon we could manage fine one season without just for the lols

Just wait until Everton start to tire. Everton making Liverpool look poor because they get 0 time on the ball. Everton can't keep that up for long.

Burnley lead God this is going to be a good day
-
Moyes formally throwing in the towel as a contender for 4th with that line-up? Rice, Bowen, Lanzini and Antonio all on the bench. Was going to watch their match, but think I'll go for Burnley instead.

Assuming Macho Man is Brunos agent in this scenario?
-
Tbf first minute of game time he won possession and unleashed the sexiest through ball of the season for us, so difficult to say. Indications are that he would have handled being thrown straight in, but we had the luxury of easing him in at the time so it made sense to do it. Well handled by Howe.
-
Same. Held up and distributed the ball better than Wood has. Granted, it was against a lacklustre Norwich so wouldn't expect him to do the same against better and more motivated opponents.
-
Easiest game of the season. Didn't think anyone bar Bruno and Joelinton played particularly well. Norwich completely gave up a 0-3.
-
fucking sex by Bruno

Do I need new glasses? Was absolutely certain it was Longstaff with the key pass to Murphy for the second goal....?
