  1. He had a release clause that was triggered didn't he? If I remember correct, that probably means no sell on fee.
  2. You should know by now that we don't do nuances or context on here. Might as well double down and go full pro-Ronaldo.
  3. Will never criticize a player for leaving in order to play regularly, and wish more of our less gifted players would take a page out of his book. The only reason he came here in the first place was because he didn't get as much game time at Dortmund as he wanted, so it's quite naive to expect him to stay here under the same conditions. He has experience in the league so he knows what to expect, he still knows the area and some of the players and staff that are still here, so if he wanted to come back and we are interested, I'd view him as less of a risk than bringing in someone completely new.
  4. Don't think homesickness was a big part of why he wanted to leave in the first place. It was obviously because of not getting a sniff of game time due to Shelvey and Diame being in fantastic form. However, even if he was homesick back then, he's obviously more mature now.

    Emil Krafth

Most fit player in the squad? Looked shredded in the post match photo.
  6. He wouldn't be a regular for Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea, but then again not many are due to how they rotate their squads. I'm fairly certain though that he'd have enough playing time to be considered an integral part of their first team. Btw, any idea who the kid he lifted up during the goal celebration on Friday was? 7. Generally agree, but pelanties are a skill that can be mastered even if you don't have the best technique. Post-Shearer there's not a player in any of our teams I'd want to take penalties ahead of Shola. He was absolutely clinical, got them right past the root of the post into the side netting with power consistently. Keepers didn't have a chance even if they guessed the right corner. Don't think he missed a penalty for us?
  8. Would love Merino back here. Don't think him slotting into a midfield together with Bruno would be any issue at all. If I remember correctly he's left footed as well, which we don't have in CM atm.
  9. Foden a joy to watch. An example for all young small technical players in England how much further you can get by focussing on getting faster and stronger to add to your footballing ability.
  10. We'd be lucky to find anyone willing to take Gayle and Clark on a free imo. Lewis and Hayden, who even we couldn't justify a squad place for, maybe £5m each from a mid-top CL club or newly promoted PL team? Most likely they'll have better options though. Maybe I'm overly pessimistic, but if we manage to get rid of Clark, Lewis, Gayle, Hendrick, Hayden, Dummett, Krafth and one of Lascelles/Schar, while obviosuly trimming the wage bill quite a bit, in terms of transfer fees to re-invest we'd maybe sit with ~£20m in total?
  11. For all his limitations, we'd be 4 points shorter without his 2 goals. If we go on a poor run for the rest of the season those 2 goals could prove to be worth the £25m we paid for him alone. I don't think we'd be better off if we played Gayle (if he had managed to stay fit for the same number of minutes Wood has played, which I doubt) instead.
  12. Benitez with a 8-10 minutes interview pitch side by Norwegian PL broadcaster.
  13. I don't really mind Everton as a club or fan base. Only reason I want to see them relegated is because it would be hilarious due to the quality of their squad.
  14. Nice weekend for Tottenham. Arsenal, West Ham, Man Utd & Wolves all losing.
  15. Apart from maybe Almiron, we'd be lucky if we could offload some of the deadwood without having to pay for part of their contracts as part of the transfer agreement. There's absolutely zero chance of us raking in anything close to 50m in transfer fees unless one of our better players attract interest from someone and we are willing to sell.
  16. Was about to write the same thing until I saw he dislocated his shoulder He do seem quite weak mentally though, probably on account of being French. Looks decent when team plays well. Waves the white flag when team is struggling. Glad Villa let us upgrade our LB while downgrading their own.
  17. Konsa and Mings the best Villa has at CB, or do they have somone obvious I've forgotten about out on long term injury?
  18. I reckon Everton are safe based on how they perform at home. Would be very surprised if they didn't get anything from Palace & Brentford, and that will probably be more than enough to not lose the 4pt gap. Bottom 3 will remain as is.
  19. Is this another Southampton 9-0 classic? Seems they need to get at least 1 but preferrably 2 of those during a season to have satisfied themselves that they've had a Southampton season.
  20. The opposite fixture was so bullshit. Hope we clatter them, especially Maddison.
  21. If Everton stay up, a lot of credit needs to go the way of their fans. Incredible atmosphere for this game. Their last home game was against us where they were also truly their 12th man in motivating the Everton players to fight.
  22. He was one of the fastest players recorded yesterday. Can't remember exact numbers but they showed the 3 fastest players after Krafth had to catch up with the wolves winger and Bruno was second place with 30.X km/hr above ASM by 0.2 or so seconds and 0.2 or 0.3 behind Krafth. He was everywhere yesterday, and I didn't get the feeling he was done when subbed either so not worried one bit about his pace or stamina.
  23. Horrible game. Great result. Wolves fans can't be happy with the effort their players put in today.
