See so many people uttering this without providing any context. Opportunity for what exactly? We lost an opportunity to win the league by not spending 3 billion on new players, same as every other team in the league. It doesn't mean anything.

Anderson couldn't have picked a worse match to get injured for. Everything was primed for him to make Willocks spot his own.

Terrible result. Bournemouth were really good at what they tried to do. We didn't move the ball fast enough to be able to find an opening in their wall of 10. Entire team seemed a bit off today in terms of work rate which was maybe the most surprising thing. We'll do better against teams who will try to play more. They treated us as a Liverpool or Man City. Not many teams will do that.

Say what you will about this performance, but Bournemouth are playing good disciplined, defensive football making it very hard for us.
-
Clearly not 100% yet Bruno. Showed in his performance too. Good sub imo.

Excellent penalty. Was certain keeper had gone to the right side

Yes

Wake up call for the players. Hope for a very positive reaction now.

Bruno's first touch is not good today. Play has slowed down quite a few times because the ball ends up behind him when he tries to control it where he has to adjust before he can move it forward.

Bournemouth doing a helluva job of pulling us down to their level. Get flashback of us under Pardew watching them in a way. Hopefully Howe has some good plans on how to counter it and we step up in effort and quality next half.

St. James' sounds like a cemetary. Not much to cheer for so far I guess, but not much to spur on the players either.

Why? Genuine question The trip was clear.
-
No comments on the Burn trip? Does a trip have to be intentional for it to be a foul?
-
It would be too divisive no matter what they did, so N-O decided to do nothing.

Very brave of Lage to persist with Collins. He's Bramble on speed. Worst CB in the league?
-
Possibly going to regret it later when double game weeks are starting, but spent my free hit as I had 5 players out this game week and kinda want my old team back for next round. Will cry if we, Tottenham and Man City don't get good results.

Hopefully we're not trying to emulate being Man Citys tiki taka with 1.50cm tall players passing the ball among themselves outside of the opposition area for 80% of the match and try to be a bit more direct. If so, there is more than enough room for Joelinton in years to come imo, provided he keeps the level he is at now or improves. He's more than good enough with the ball, and it'll be easier for him too if/when we get players who are better at keeping the ball and making themselves available for passes. I'd be very sad if he wasn't a regular for us still in 2-3 years time.

Who was it on here that said they would go down this season as the gap between league 1 and champo was bigger than the gap between champo and PL?
-
He was 4 years old back then
-
Sounds like our very own new Aaron Spear

They'll probably go ultra defensive like they did against Villa(?) in their first match. Having Bruno and ASM back to help unlock their back 5 & low block will be key to win. If they aren't ready for this match I'll probably hoy a bet on for a 0-0 draw.

Don't torys, conservatives, right wingers donate a ton to charities like food banks etc? I always get the impression that is part justification for stripping down public safety nets, health care etc.
