He's not reliant on being particularly strong or fast, so could easily see him performing at this level for the next 7-8 years, and still be a handful for any team in his mid-30's. Have a feeling he'll stay here for a long time. Everything he's said and what I've read about his time in Brazil indicates that he's not particularly interested in joining a club where the table is already set and road to success paved by others, but want to create something on his own.

Takes more than 3-4 decent matches to change my opinion based on the last 7 seasons.
-
Iwobi is an awful nothing footballer, but that was a sweet shot.
-
Paqueta is so different from what I thought he would be based on reports & highlight reels. His all action, hard pressing style which would make him suitable to play anywhere in midfield is nowhere to be seen.
-
Basically the same as Man City does with Walker at RB or Ake at LB with Cancelo on either side. Arsenal with Zinchenko and White. Edit: I do think we've done more or less the same when Targett has been in the side too. You'll see from heat maps that Trippier always is more advanced than him. He do give us a bit more attacking fret in the side compared to Burn, so would prefer Targett there when fully fit.

Lets hope it's not the usual post-injury ASM that needs a number of games to get back to form that returns to us, but one raring to go and firing on all cylinders. Either way it'll be an upgrade on Murphy/Fraser so he needs to get as much game time as possible.

So apparently 1 out of every 15th inhabitant in Bodø was inside the Emirates stadium yesterday

This match is awful, and I love it

The Maddison ass licking on here

He's primed them to become a boring, nasty lower mid-table team for years to come. Boring, old but solid defenders. Physical midfielders with little ability. Hard working attackers with little end product.
-
It's not even a new position. He's had a lot of games on the right wing throughout his career including with us. I think Howe and his team has done a tremendously good job at implementing their system within the team so Almiron knows when and where to make runs, and his team mates knows when and where to pass the ball. Some of the runs he makes now doesn't seem natural to how I am used to seeing him play. Now you see him passing the ball and then immediately curl his neck and run into space behind defenders. I can't remember him doing that before.

Can't wait for the 10,000 "missed opportunity" posts on here in January. They were so insightful and fun to read in the summer.

Howe put him in his best position today. It's where he himself also prefers to play so hope Howe sticks with it and eventually replaces Willock with him as a regular starter.. He's not fast enough to play effectively on the wing in the PL.
-
Lots of people here happy slag off Lewis, but Pope was equally at fault for Fulhams goal imo.
-
PL quality if we can play against a demotivated 10 man team every week. Anderson > Willock every time for me.
-
Nick took his England form back to club football?
-
Should get Lewis and Anderson on for entire second half to give them some much needed minutes and opportunity to impress.

Fulham players queuing up to get out of this game.

Almiron

Normally want to see Anderson playing centrally but for this match fully agree.
-
Almiron & Longstaff now made positive runs in behind Fulham defence while trying to play 1-2 with Murphy and he just ignores their initiative and stops play completely.

Based on the red card given the previous match Arsenal-Tottenham, this is a red 10/10 times.
