FYP I think the fact he's played exclusively as a central striker in 4 different countries & national team indicates that he's best playing as a striker. Wanting him to play as a winger is as absurd as the occasional calls for Schar to play DM just because he can pass the ball. If he ends up stinking the place up as a striker then sure, give him a try somewhere else. In that event I guess we can always hope that he's a new Joelinton, but I doubt we'll get that lucky again for a long long time.

We can't be shoehorning players into our formation by sticking this guy on the right wing, or putting ASM on the right just to play Isak on the left. He is striker. While he seemingly can drift out wide during matches, he's started like 2 matching on LW and RW in his entire career according to transfermarkt. Play him in his natural position together with Wilson, or start him or Wilson on the bench so we have options to change things up during games.

I think we were interested, amongst others, but decided to prioritise a striker of similar profile/calibre in Isak this summer rather than a central attacking midfielder. Paqueta in front of Soucek and Rice is potentially one of the best midfields in the league, depending on how Paqueta adapts of course. Wonder what the add-ons are. West Ham have fooled them well if the main bulk of the add-on fee is linked to Champions League qualification.
