Have it on good authority that you only received £15m for him the year he was sold.
-
Can only re-emphasize what others have said that if you "count" it like that, you've got to consider all other installments due this year for players like Beek, Diallo, Telles, Maguire, Fernandes, Bissaka, James, Fred & Dalot brought in the 4 previous seasons as well.

I was certain of relegation last season, but turns out as long as we've got ASM & Wilson fit for the main part of the season we will scrape through on individual contributions. If one of them gets a bad long term injury or is sold before the window closes without an equally good replacement lined up we're down.

Even worse than Steve Harper up top

Anybody stupid enough to pay for travel and tickets to see a Bruce lead, Ashley owned Newcastle in 2021 deserves all the laugh and ridicule they can get.
-
Man Utd need a trophy bigger than the league cup this season, and be right up there if not win the league or OGS is done. What an amazing team he can field now.

Points deduction is a sweet bonus imo.

I put 8. I want the club to fail so hard it becomes a financial liability for Mike Ashley. Only way he will sell. Don't care if a chancer buys us and we continue to plummet down the league system. If they fail the likelihood that the club will be sold on again is much higher than persisting with Ashley in the hope that a mega rich sugar daddy appears while we continue to aim for 17th with the odd relegation and promotion here and there.

50/50 isn't it? Only two players in their squad is 31.
-
Did Cardiff ever end up paying for him?
-
There's been a lot of good signings. Don't really disagree with any mentioned here so far (well, Bruce excluded) in their own rights, whether it's for return on the pitch like Shearer, decent return in that they were sold on for a lot more than what we paid like Sissoko, picked up for low fee & played a vital part in the squad for many years like Krul.

Remember the first games where he started as a right winger? Our level of scouting back then, even by todays standard must have been woeful.

I always feel sad when I see Luque mentioned in these discussions. He was fantastic at Depor and was at his peak when we got him. Even though there's these rumours that came later about how FS negotiated that deal and that we apparently could have gotten him for like £6-7m, I still at the time thought we got him on the cheap. He showed glimpses of being a good player in his first or second appearance against Man Utd before he got injured, and never recovered properly. Think he would have been great here if not for the unfortunate injury.

Love it when footballers has based takes.

I hope for your sake this is the main thing most take away after this. Obviously very dissapointing, but England has had a fantastic tournament and you should be proud.

,Happy for Italy. Gutted for Saka.
-
Who are these players Italy are putting on? Sounds like PES regens. Never heard of any of them
-
Very italian defending.

Guess I was wrong, my stereotyping got the best of me Shame to see him off. Great player.
-
Great performance by Chiesa. I almost believe he's in actual pain.
-
My thought too. He's been running around like a man possessed for 70 minutes. Henderson good sub to put on in his place.
-
Maybe I haven't paid enough attention this championship, but when did England start fielding Dawson Leery in goal?
-
Shaw started and ended the attack. Great wing back play.

He will stay. First interview after they leave: He'll brag about how he brought in the players in the first place, with Ashleys blessing, to emphasize how good he is at spotting talent and how generous Ashley is. Then he'll go on and say something about being sad they are leaving but that it was impossible to hold onto them. He'll end it with saying something about Ashley promising funds for replacements. Towards the end of the transfer window, he'll probably get one decent player & a couple of freebies and loans in and say that it's a difficult market but that he's happy with what he's got and that there were funds available from Ashley for more signings. We'll look certain for the drop again but somehow scrape some unimaginable wins that keeps us 15th-17th yet again.

Spurs seems to be a few years behind Newcastle. Hope the Poch sacking was their SBR moment and it's a slow, painful and obvious descent into obscurity for the next 15-16 years.
