The tweet above says Everton are now competing & have a chance. Hardly describing it as a miracle.

It's the same in almost every league. Nothing new, just new people getting tired of the same thing older people got tired with a long time ago. Just a few examples: Bayern have been outside of the top four 7 times since 1964 Real Madrid has been outside of the top four 13 times since 1929 Ajax has been outside of the top four 5 times since 1961 Anderlecht has been outside the top four 1 time since 1987 Club Brugge has been outside the top four 2 times since 1987 Juventus has been outside the top four 17 times (including relegation & Serie B season due to match fixing) since 1949

From what I was watching, Everton worked their socks off against us, Man Utd and Chelsea and made us and them look very ordinary. It's more a compliment to Everton than criticism of their opponents imo. Their fans should take a lot of credit if they stay up, for cheering their team on and making Goodison a nasty place to play for visiting teams.

  5. I don't think he's a realistic target fwiw. It's probably a season or two too early for us. However, if Man Utd are in the run for him, without CL, I don't see why we shouldn't be in there as well. He'll be worth it. Skip to 06:22 Skip to 02:05 Or you know, just look at some footage of him. He's not the finished product, but his potential is immense.
  6. His all round game is still better than 90% of our current squad. He'd be an immense signing. Tall, strong, fast, good movement, dribbling, finishing. Exactly what we need to step up to the next level. Still fairly young so can get better too.
  7. Lukaku turns 29 in two weeks. Let him be Chelseas problem until they are prepared to let him go for whatever anyone are offereing. £50m
  8. That's a criminally cheap price. Should have been all over that one.
  9. Nope, not until they realized they were in the shit. Still struggle to put in the same amount of effort away from home.
  10. Just got a call from a call center doing some sort of questionaire. Politely declined saying I was busy watching football, caller asked which game, said Everton-Chelsea. He had it on in the background as well, and was sad that Everton was in the lead. Both agreed it would be fun if Everton lost despite none of us being Chelsea fans just because it would be fun in Everton got relegated. Told me to enjoy the match and hung up.
  11. I think he is decent going forward. Maybe not the most technically gifted, but he can carry the ball well enough, makes some smart runs when the opportunity presents itself, got a nice pass & cross in him as well. Defensively very solid, rarely lets anyone past him, decent in the air. He is better than a bottom 10 PL left back in my eyes. Seem to be a nice guy and humble guy as well. A character we need in the dressing room. Of the current left backs in the PL (excluding wing backs like Doherty, Alonso etc), I'd rate Robertson, Zinchenko and Chillwell as clearly better than him. Tavares, Castagne, Telles, Shaw, Digne, Cucurella are of similar quality to him. Difficult to say who is better than the other due to the different qualities each of them has, but I've really liked what I've seen of Targett on and off the pitch so would prefer him over the others listed. There's obviously better left backs out there in the world, and we may be able to attract one here, but I'd sign Targett asap so we don't have to worry about that position and can focus all the attention on improving more critical areas in the squad.
  12. I'd sell Clark if someone offered north of £20m
  13. Too slow imo, same as JWP. We need more pace and energy in our side.
  14. He's easy to defend against because there's little else teams has to defend against when playing us. He's more than deserved to stay on as a first team member next season. Hopefully we'll have more things teams has to worry about so they can't double/tripe/quadruple up against him.
  15. Assist from Anderson 89th minute to equalise 3-3 away to Rochdale Edit: Wrong Anderson
  16. "most caring and amazing football agent that ever was" "Minos's mission of making football a better place for players" Would rather he had retired obviously, but can't help but feel football is better off without him.
  17. EPO only helps for stamina (stimulates production of red blood cells which improves oxygen transport capacity to the blood). As you say, he seems faster and stronger than he was in his early 20's If he is on something, my bet would be TRT.
  18. Why do Liverpool have to be so annoying about everything? Don't really mind the result, but the way they behave, from the bench to the players on the field. Can't wait until they are back to a non-entity like in the 90's.
  19. Was just about to write that. Good to know our players can just fall to the ground if they fail a header to stop the play.
  20. Really shows the gulf in quality when they are looking so comfortable playing without Salah, Fabinho, TAAAA & Thiago.
  21. Jota went meek there. Fuck him up Joe!
  22. Honestly would take a red and game over if someone suckpunched Milner on the snout. Would be worth it.
