I don't think anyone has said that releasing this statement was a good idea.

No offence to Stifler but.... sorry I can't finish that without offending him. As said, the statement is just f***ing stupid. It's obvious it will be taken negatively so why even bother releasing it. There is no way you can dress this up to look good. I somewhat agree. The statement doesn't really say anything other then that they support Chris, and takes a swipe at the media. There is, however, nowhere in that statement that says there won't be any money for transfers this summer, and rightly so. That seems to be the issue with most here, as they were looking for "will be spending money on players" and " £XXm will be made available to Chris in the summer". That isn't very clever to do though, is it? Other then appeasing the fans for a few weeks. Why mention it at all, the way they have worded is either very badly or something they shouldn't be confirming if they want happy fans buying season tickets. Well yeah, that's why I agree with you that the statement is stupid. People are bound to overreact, due to drawing their own conclutions, or just not understanding what the statement actually says. No-one can really understand what it says because they have left it open to interpretation, now given what Ashley has done since we got here people are obviously going to suspect worst case scenario. It annoys me we have complete morons running this club. From a business to business perspective, I guess it makes sense to leave it open to interpretation, but from a business to fans perspective Im willing to sit on the fence and see what happens, based on the actions of the club in january. No need to go postal just yet.

f***s sake people I could go on and post a picture of a storm in a cup, a doctor hitting a patient on his knee and so on. I won't. READ what Stifler has written in here. That's all.

Is this a competition to analyze the statement in the worst possible way? It's a nothing statement that tells us nothing.
  7. I think it's pretty funny tbh. Nicky Butt Would be worse if it had been someone random like Guthrie or Smith.

    La Liga 09/10

like the look of Bilbao's Julio Llorente but is highly rated and maybe out of our price range. Soldado is rumoured to be going to Valencia if/when Villa is sold. Llorente's a good one, but as you said he's out of your range at this point. Good thing about Soldado is that his buyout clause is rather low. I think the link with Atlético is more solid, although if Valencia go for him he'd rather go there due to CL football. Both teams are completely broke, and will only buy him if they sell Villa/Agüero (which is likely). This Valencia talk reminds me that Zigic is for sale (we'll he's been for 2 years now), gonna post it in your transfer thread. Is he like Fernando? The FM 08 (or 09?) legend? A big fucking tank?
  9. Ranieri told Norwegian media just recently when asked if he thought Riise were Europes best left back: "Riise has become alot better defensivley. There isn't many good left backs around, and im happy to be his manager." Taking away our Norwegians desperate plot to make him say he is the best, those words clearly insinuate that he isn't going to leave anytime soon.

Why isn't there a photoshop thread with that picture?
  11. A one year contract with the view to extending for one further year would not be bad at all. Depends on how much wages hes after.
  12. I have vague memory of him being immense for Villa 2 or 3 years ago. Would be a huge gamble considering his injury problems, but if he could overcome the problems he would be an asset for any PL team.
  13. Rooney, just because of his age.
  14. Pretty much spot on imo Ronaldo. Except for Loven, Routledge and Jonas. Loven could be vital for us this season, not saying he should be a starter for us, but there isn't a player we could replace what he brings to the table for 750k. We should at least get £2m before thinking of shipping him out. I'd say £6m for Routledge, and £8m for Jonas.
  15. Gignac is an FM-ledgend, but I have doubts about him. Does he have any stand out attributes? Strong, tall, fast, technical? For some reason I think of him as a Fowler-esque type of player, and I don't think that kind of players can hack it in the PL anymore. A bit like Chopra also when I think of it. Just in case, I have my tin hat on already.
  16. OK this is my last attempt at explaining this, clearly my thought process is not in line with the majority of you here. The opening few sentences explain things, not a list of values, not even a list of how much you would take for a player, it's a list of thresholds of how much you would consider as silly money to accept for a player. If you don't understand the difference in those terms, then I give up. Im really trying to understand. Maybe because im Norwegian, there is some small misunderstanding, so I'll try again with a small twist on it: You would consider £20m for Carroll silly money, and sell immediatley, yet, you would perhaps sell him for £10m, which would be reasonable?
  17. I thought a players value is the price somebody is willing to pay, and seller is willing to let go for. So what you are saying is that you wouldn't sell Carroll for anything less than £20m? Instead of making my own list, you can just look at your numbers and divide it by 2. You are crazy
  18. Time to go to work, work all night Search for Europe, today We won't stop until we have Europe Yum yum yummy yum yay Time to go to work, work all day Search for Europe today We won't stop until we have Europe Yum yum yummy yum yay
  19. We shouldn't sell R.Taylor to any PL-team based on the fact that he always scores against us.
  20. It can't be a girl. To small breasts for a female figure that fat.
  21. Nolan must have been saving up saliva in his mouth since kick-off if that were just spit.
