  1. How can you not have Gouffran in the team man ? He made 1 or 2 tackles, and tracked back a couple of times, even almost crossed the ball at one stage yesterday. You can't replace that kind a production with creative players like Cabella and Aarons !!
  2. Look at the teams below us now currently in the league. They are truly shocking, add WBA, Stoke and Hull to that lot never mind West ham who are doing shockingly well and really there is no excuse for us to even be close to relegation.
  3. He's not really taking his chance very well is he, been shocking in the last two games.
  4. It's a good win against yet another poor team we've played this year. Crazy how many times I've come away from Newcastle games thinking that this season. Really only team to have truly impressed against us this season is Southampton. Even Manshitty were far from impressive in their win. Is that because we're playing in a way that stops the opponents playing or is the league that bad ? I think it's a bit of both to be fair to Pardew and that's not necessarily a compliment to him, and indicative of his safety first approach to games. This start to the season in terms of fixtures was very comfortable and we should really be a lot higher in the table than we are. I cheered the Perez goal today, probably the first time a while I've gotten excited about a goal we scored, that's sad to say and long term it may not be in the teams best interest to prolong the charlatan's tenure but I'm happy right now and with or without Pardew the last thing I think the club needs is another relegation.
  5. Then it might take longer for him to want to do a full takeover, which may not be a good thing for us.
  6. How much profit are NUFC roughly expected to make from last season, Happy Face if you have a rough figure? http://i58.tinypic.com/9puhix.png We know the exact TV money next year, and we know wages have come down, but not by how much, so assuming commercial and match day unchanged, it would be around a £45m profit. Then add £20m to that for Cabaye. Jesus christ. I'm sure they will tell us all that money was reinvested in the summer transfer splurge and the new TV There's none left and Mike has loaned us another 20 million to pay the bills, because he cares so much. Maybe we are just some tax haven for the big man, that's the only thing I can think of.
  7. Why did he even need to inject 29m because we went down, yeah we lost TV money, but the parachute payments offset that a little and the TV money back then was nowhere near the level it is today, we also sold a bunch of players and a made a tidy wedge that summer and got rid of a bunch of high earners like Owen, Duff, Beye and Viduka. Crowds were very healthy during our year out of the PL (wasn't it 48k average) and of course we were back at the first opportunity. I don't believe every club that is relegated needed 29 million to survive one year in the fizzy pop league back then, we didn't even invest in the squad, the players that were brought in were loanees and bargain basement players, like Lovenkrands, Best, Willo and routledge. How the hell do the smaller teams cope, FFS Fulham spent 12 million on one player this summer ! These numbers we get from these guys don't seem to add up sometimes. We lost 35m while in the Championship. If we lost that much how come there are not more Portsmouths and Leeds's, how do the smaller clubs that don't have the match day income, TV money (for a championship team we were on the TV a lot that year), the income from transfers we received cope with relegation from the PL. Not saying you are wrong, I'm sure it's reported somewhere that's what we lost but it just doesn't all add up to me. Take Norwich, they spent a lot of money last season when the new PL TV deal came out, bought players like Fer and Van Wolfswinkle for a lot more money than they are used to spending, and it all falls apart for them and they are relegated. Surely financially the are in the shit right now, and if they fail to come straight back up could be staring administration in the face.

  9. Which is a completely ridiculous situation, and the fact that they are implying we should be thankful for him for bailing us out is utter craziness.
  10. Relatively speaking, no depends how much monies you got and what is "cheap" to you. Well going back to around 2000, my friend bought this single family home, I would say around 2,500 square foot, with garage and a pool for $150k in the Orlando area. I spoke to him a few years ago about it and because of the economy, it wasn't worth a whole lot more, maybe $200k. We are having a home built right now in Calgary, that is pretty similar in size, in a similar type of community but without the pool (because this is Canada ) and it's costing us close to $700k and that's cheap for here for a house of that size. So my plan when I retire was to downsize to an apartment here and buy an apartment in Orlando or a gulf coast location from the money we make selling our family home, in today's market an 2 bed apartment in Calgary would cost around $250k,so that would leave me with plenty of money in today's market to buy the Florida apartment, unless the prices have shot up. If so then I may need to look at some other cheaper warm place to spend the winters, I don't I will be able to cope with them when I'm 65 and older, I'm struggling right now in my mid 40's
  11. I miss Orlando, lived there for 4 years around the turn of the millennium. My absolute favourite place I have ever lived, and I've been about a bit. It's our vacation spot of choice now, but we've been expanding our family and building a new home so not got down there in a few years. When I retire I plan to spend 6 months a year there and return to Canada for the summers. Are house prices still ridiculously cheap ?

    Kieron Dyer

A lot of Black and White glasses on here, Solano was a great player for us but no one outside of Newcastle would put him ahead of Beckham (even though Beckham was not as good a footballer as his hype would led you to believe). As to your avatar, no I hate the arrogant son of a bitch, loved watching my dolphins beat his crybaby ass first game of the season !!
  13. Leicester (h) Spurs (a) Liverpool (h) West Brom (a) QPR (h) West Ham (a) Burnley (a) Chelsea (h) Arsenal (a) Sunderland (h) Man U (a) Everton (h) before we start with the reverse fixtures We'll be lucky to be on 10 points if we don't beat Leicester, it's that bad. Edit: these fixture lists are allowed nowadays, aren't they? let's revisit this Leicester (h) - W Spurs (a) - L Liverpool (h) - L West Brom (a) - L QPR (h) - W West Ham (a) L Burnley (a) - D Chelsea (h) - L Arsenal (a) - L Sunderland (h) - L Man U (a) - L Everton (h) - L i reckon 14 points by the halfway stage with probably 5 solid f***ing hammerings in there even accounting for 1 more win over those games it'd still only be 17 points, less than 50% of what we'll need to stay up and we'll have our usual shockingly negative GD as well the championship beckons again then Sad part is that the stretch of WBA, QPR, West Ham and Burnley is as easy as it gets in the PL, with any other manager I would be looking for 10 - 12 points, with Pardew we'll be lucky if we get 2
  14. That's the most awful thing, with the exception of Southampton (who were strolling) and Man City none of the teams we've played so far are anything at all, we should have loads of points by now, even with a half competent manager.
  15. Leicester are garbage, really really garbage, so winning 1-0 at home is no great achievement.
  16. What a crap half of football. Positives: Obertan has looked dangerous when he's gotten the ball. Taylor looks so much better than Williamson. That's about it !!! Negatives: Goufran WTF, why is this player getting games every fucking week, he does nothing for the team, and paired with Dummet, the left hand flank is an area we only need to think about when the opposition is attacking Anita has shown on more than one occasions why Pardew isn't playing, ffs man take your chance Sissoko, I've been a big supporter of him but what right now are you offering that a second striker that is being sacrficed to play you could do ? Generally play, so little lack of invention it's ridiculous. Leicester are awful, they look like a championship team, really missing out on three point here could be huge. Yet they've come closest to scoring
  17. This is very true, reminds me of the last time we went down, and hugely dangerous. These people are sleepwalking into the Championship.
  18. Hasn't he got a history of buying up struggling brands, such as Dunlop Slazenger and Lonsdale, when they are at a low value. Not sure what his track record is at turning those brands around or not, but if I were a Rangers fan I would be looking into that. I think his intentions with Rangers may be completely different to that when he bought us. I still believe he bought us primarily as an advertising vehicle with added benefit of giving himself a plaything and the chance to prove the experts who said you could never make money out of owning a football club wrong. With Rangers, I think it's pure business, how much can he make out of them.
  19. And that is the big issue, football authorities should be looking at on rulings whether or not he can own (or effectively) 2 football clubs, because in a world of financial fair play, this could become a huge loophole. Irrespective of which country those 2 clubs are in. FFS there is less distance between us and Glasgow than there is between us and the bulk of the PL.

WTF is there to like about Keane, repulsive individual
  21. Personally think he would do better that both starting CBs atm but we'll never get to see it, that's not a reflection on his ability more a reflection on how bad the incumbents are and how they appear to be undropable.

Spot on man, until we get up of our backside and try to effect change or support those who are, then it'll just keep on getting worse.
  23. My Forest supporting mate says there is a relegation clause, not sure if I believe that. We'd sell them for a profit anyway. That's a load of crap. We don't just have an agreement to buy the players, we have already bought them and loaned them back. No way would a player bought from a championship club be in a strong enough position to negotiate a relegation release clause.
  24. But there is zero guarantee of that, in fact last time Ashley said he wanted to sell and couldn't because no one wanted to buy. Not sure that's changed, for whatever reason, I don't think we are seen as a good investment by anyone. Wasn't Hall looking to sell his stake in the club for a long time before Ashley finally came along ? Ashley's obviously got an exit strategy in mind otherwise why would he put a time frame on when he is not prepared to sell and everything points to him taking over Rangers and dropping us. So this is the time he should be looking into what is putting off would be buyers and trying to rectify that although I suspect the biggest thing is something he can do nothing about, Geographical location.
