  1. Absolutely. Losing our best next summer seems probable if we don't strengthen enough to achieve 4-5th. There's huge long-term implications. 6-8th could end up being our long term ceiling. Like it or not, we're not currently on an upward trajectory - be it squad, training ground or stadium.
  2. Don't think it's particularly happy camp right now. Losing Staveley and Ghodoussi seems to have been a bit of a blow to Howe and has left a hole in the club, we don't seem particularly organised on the FFP and transfer front, and a couple of key players don't seem in the right state of mind - either itching for a move or suffering personal turmoil. Isak must be getting sick of having average at best players such as Longstaff and Murphy behind him. And then you realise City, Arse and Pool look nailed on for 1st, 2nd and 3rd - leaving a strong looking Villa, Spurs, Chelsea, Brighton and still possibly Man Utd knocking us down the pecking order once again.
  3. Liverpool, City, Arse, Chelsea, Villa, Brighton are all looking pretty decent, Spurs will be up there, and Man U will around as usual too. If this remains our squad for the season, even 7th could be a stretch, as the mindset doesn't seem quite there any more, and Howe seems somewhat unhappy as well.
  4. Hopefully season really starts with our traditional 4-6 goals against Spurs
  5. A shit as we'd been for much of the game, Bournmouth are becoming a slightly lesser Liverpool to us, aren't they.
  6. Unless we bring in some quality over the next week, my prediction of 7th this season is looking a tad optimistic
  7. This is atrocious and deeply concerning. Half the team either don't appear fit or can't pass, and Gordon looks like he wants to be at another club.
  8. Gordon not looking great again. Would like to see Barnes out there. Desperate for Tonali as well.
  9. Club certainly coming in for some flak this weekend. Sunday Times today questioning the soul of the club and that Tripper at least provided some of that for a sportswashing project, yes has been 'treated abysmally'. https://www.thetimes.com/sport/football/article/why-is-kieran-trippier-being-exiled-at-newcastle-ztb7z8d62
  10. Don't think this will go down well... https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/aug/24/newcastles-saudi-future-may-not-be-what-many-imagined-as-pressure-hits
  11. Brighton apart, table is start to look a bit predictable already. Not sure who I want to win tonight. I really like Emery - excellent manager who acts with great dignity, but suppose Villa are our most likely rival for a European spot. But then Arteta and the Arse fans are absolute whoppers.
  12. Those T&Cs seem pretty standard to me. I don't work in retail and any of the supposed shitty job types, but would love 25 days holiday and paid OT!
  13. The Mag only just realised? https://www.themag.co.uk/2024/08/this-is-shameful-seeding-introduced-for-usual-suspects-in-carabao-cup-by-subterfuge-newcastle-united/ It is fucking scandalous though. What are more often than not the cartel clubs already get a bye into the next round. This seems nothing more than an effort to ensure the big brand clubs don't knock each other out too soon. Meanwhile our odds of drawing City, Arse or Pool if we beat Forrest has increased substantially.
  14. A draw would be a good result here, but think we could be for quite a shock with losing by a couple of goals.
  15. Guess they're just hesitant to admit both the ref and VAR made a very poor call.

    Marc Guehi

I've seen fucking continents "edging closer" quicker that this bullshit.
  17. Hope his house doesn't close in on him like a goldfish bowel when he's got nowt to do.
  18. Think he was out September till December last year, then March till potentially December this year.
  19. Looking increasingly likely we're gonna need BDB and Murphy to take things up a few notches this season if we're to have a hope of getting near top 4.
  20. Weren't one of the cartel owner quoted anonymously as saying 'we can't allow a repeat of a Leicester' (winning the league/taking a CL spot)? Suppose what better example to set than seeing their team asset stripped, relegated, then deducted points and likely relegate them again for the crime of trying to improve. Will be thumbs up from the owners of Arse, Pool and Man U.
