Aston Villa vs. Newcastle United: 16/08/25 @ 12:30 (TNT Sport)

Love the players (well, except that one c*nt), but my word it's depressing seeing next weeks likely line up whilst 5 of the 6 have added hundreds of millions in talent to their squads. -
Has any defender with a history of clangers ever managed to eventually shake it off? Seems a shit load of money for a gaff prone player.

Comfortable 3-0 for home side. -
Sounds a bit naff and overpriced.

We're never getting £150m ffs Once a striker is over the line, he'll get his dream move for £130m or so. He's essentially on strike, and I'd imagine most of the squad have nothing but contempt for him. And Howe is never going to admit he's finished here. It's just a pity we cannot condemn him to the reserves for 12 months.

Will Osula: Goal vs Man United nominated for PL Goal of the Season
Turnbull2000 replied to a topic in Football
Potentially our back up striker or only striker for Villa - pretty depressing to see he hasn't progressed. -
This would be nice. Just find it hard to believe. Seen too many similar reports, rumours and tweets to start assuming everyone of these ends in failure. Whether he'ss intended as the Isak or Wilson replacement is anybodies guess.
-
Ah well, we tried. Moving on. (may as well that out the way)
-
What comes first - stadium announcement or someone to actually run the club? Probably got another 3 months of 'club exploring options'.
-
Well, at least we tried I suppose Right, who's next?
-
Absolutely. There's a huge risk we'll finish 8th or 9th this season due to our abysmal squad depth and potentially no striker or a mediocre striker. We can't really complain if the likes of Tonali, Tino etc then want out.
-
Wissa for Isak (who finally get his 'only ever wanted Liverpool') and two emergency loans for a CM and CB would be sensational progress compared to the past two weeks. Osula and Gordon will have to do as striker backups till Jan. Feel we need a change of personnel to sort our the current shit show, and that ain't happening in time.
-
Bayern or Spurs here we gooo! It's absolutely nailed on someone else snatches Wissa if Brentford become willing sellers.
-
Suppose that's the risk of having a nepo baby out of his depth dealing with transfers.
-
Is there a footballing equivalent to the Formula 1 'lift and coast'. Would it be 10 men men behind the ball? Hopefully Howe is working hard on some energy saving tactics cos boy are we gonna a struggle.
-
That we'd be set to do so constantly. As it is, City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arse look to be building a vast advantage over us, essentially locking out top 4 unless one has as disastrous season. Man U will inevitably be back up there soon with their spending and reputation attracting players that we can't. Spurs will surely recover as well. It's been a combination of punching above our weight, not playing in Europe and good fortune that's got us CL twice recently. We'll be lucky to finish 7th this season and probably run our key players into the ground. I think our squad depth has actually shrank since we were last in the CL ffs There may also have been the expectation that we'd soon be able to offer cartel level salaries. That's not happening. Tino and Hall could go to City/Arse/Chelsea/Pool and double their salary and be guaranteed CL footy pretty much every year, whilst all have sufficient squad depth so not to forced them to play them till they break.

Haven't you read the Palace forum? Seems they'd be honoured if Guehi ended up at Liverpool, even on a free. Whereas they'd have nothing but contempt for the player and owner if he ended up with us. We're not really a step up apparently, which to to be fair, us finishing 9th and Palace 10th is quite feasible this season.
-
I've seen evidence myself that suggests new stadium on Leazes is the scheme that's being developed. If PIF get their arse into gear, would be very surprised if it ends up being just a refurb of St James. Whatever happens, the lack of communication from the club has been appalling.
-
Assuming no Isak and the squad as it is, it's worth a punt to be honest. Fatigue and injuries will take a heavy toll, so we may be drifting between 8-12th around the winter period. I reckon the Guardian will have us down for 8th in their own predictions.
-
As frustrating as it is, our fan base is a fraction of Man U's, a we probably barely register on the continent. It shouldn't come as a surprise that top players will insist on them over us more often than not.
-
This is the perfect opportunity for PIF to demonstrate we matter just as much as the Saudi League by buying overpriced junk from a breakaway six club. What's not to like

Still can't believe what has happened so far this summer
