Yeah, top 7 is the more realistic target assuming no new outfield players of note. Alternatively we bin off the domestic cups.
-
We could potentially be playing Villa with almost the exact same team as we did in the 2023 season opener Pope Tripps Botman Scharr Burn Murphy Tonali Bruno Joe Gordon Isak
-
I quite like it

FIFA will surely want to bin off the smaller clubs, and invite more prestige names for 2029. Or maybe the crowds will improve if held in a footballing nation?
-
The Chronicle is at the point now where you could probably just set off ChatGPT to scan local Facebook groups or re-write old content. The quality is so dire already anyway.
-
Who's this fucker? It seems to be gaining traction, and they sound convinced on the City forum it's on. If they offer £150,000+ per week and an excellent chance of a major trophy (that's what spending £400m in a single year can get you), suppose there's not much we can if he's keen.
-
Probably not entirely unrelated to the corrupt Infantino giving Saudi the World Cup.
-
My possibly unpopular opinion is that we put second string/kids out in the FA Cup, any maybe even the League Cup. Two or three squad additions won't be enough to manage the workload without risking another injury crisis and dropping back down to 7-8th in the league.

When our leading player, Bellingham, has grown to be an absolute c*nt, it doesn't make it any easier to get on board with England. He's like a footballing Verstappen.
-
If the current ground location becomes a Wembley type avenue with parkland and amenities each side, with the listed Leazes Terrace overlooking, I can't see how that's not anything but a vast improvement on the existing cityscape. Other than parkrun, the end of Leazes Park for the new stadium doesn't offer much at all.

He's a complete bellend. I mean, just look at his view on biological men competing in women's sports. He thinks it would be 'wonderful' if they dominated against biological women.
-
Neither Burn or Gordon have looked worthy of a place in the starting 11. No disrespect to Burn, but don't think expectations for him are particularly high anyway. Gordon on the other hand has hugely underwhelmed every time.

We're not really competing with those clubs in the transfer market. Not even close, really. Unlike them, an expensive flop would be a major set back for us - both financially and on the pitch. We're in very narrow performance window where we need top 4 capable squad players, but on a top 7 budget. We need to buy extremely carefully.
-
Gone quiet on this front? Honestly thought we'd hear something once the season was wrapped up.
-
So he despised Newcastle and the fans before the Saudi takeover then.
-
Probably old news on the internet, but the Times reported today he's been getting secretly paid to promote the Club World Cup by FIFA.
-
Fuck me, losing Tino would be devastating. Unfortunately, we're still well down the pecking order of prestige and salaries against the breakaway 5, so not much we can do if he desires the move. It's almost certain he'd be first choice for England right now if he were playing for City.

[LCF] Newcastle United 2-1 Liverpool - NUFC LEAGUE CUP WINNERS
Turnbull2000 replied to 54's topic in Football
After seeing that Arse got £100m from their champions league campaign, and that City and Chelsea are set for £50m minimum for the club world cup nonsense, delighted to learn we earned £182,000 from our Carabao Cup winning run -
They'd have to sack us off and buy a big Italian club to regularly match the financial might of PSG.
-
The Chelsea owner's private equity firm has bought 800+ Chelsea owned but yet to be built flats less than 90 minutes, making the club hundreds of millions.... ....or at least that's what I'm expecting to have happened, and for the PL to rule it's all above board and nothing to see here.
-
Longstaff remains the sort of player we need for the domestic cups, surely? Don't think we can be using the likes of Isak, Tonali, Botman etc in the early rounds.
-
At least the answer is in the headline. The Chronicle would be like 'Newcastle Isak transfer truth emerges' or 'Newcastle's incredible transfer plans speaks volumes', with the article the sprinkled with typos. Unfortunately enough people must click on that shite.
-
You'd think Youtube is fairly reflective of how popular the club is. Subscriber numbers are pretty reflective on the financial situation - Man U (10m), Arse (4.5m), Pool (10m), Chelsea (6m) and Spurs (4m) are light years in front. Then there's us, West Ham, Villa and Everton all floating around 700-800k.

Also, the replacement for the original architect (who defected to another stadium project) is about to quit due to design culture differences, so third one in 18 months will be appointed in July. Or so I've heard...
