I thought Newcastle United had given up with Erding...
Nevertheless, the only reason Erding looks so concerned in the match is because he wants to stay in Paris. He, of course, knows that PSG is building a strong team with all those big transferts and he wants to be part of this adventure, which is clearly undestandable.
I think Paris could easily win the league this season, considering OM and Lyon hadn' t reinforce themselves yet.
Stop making stuff up in your head.....
Which means ... ?
mimi, Erding wasn't even a fixture in the first team last season!
PSG have since brought in numerous new attacking players, with more still to come apparently.
Why on earth would Erding still feel he would have a chance and want to stay?
IMOas soon as we give hi and his agent what they want he will be over at Newcastle in a flash. Whether or not we decide to give into their demands, or whether they choose to settle for less, is what it will come down to at the end of the day.
Can't see him genuinely looking to stay at PSG to fight for his place. PSG are like Man City now, he's got no chance. Especially coming off of a sub par season.
Are you really serious ?
Of course Erding wants to stay in Paris ! Even the commentators are repeating this since the beginning of the match...
PSG probably wants to get rid of him, if there are some good offers for him.
But PSG will play a lt of matches this season (europa league, cups, ...) and he'll be a good sub on the bench.
And did you even thought that it was Erding who didn't want to come in Newcastle ? Or maybe you're too confident !
Erding doesn't worth more than 7 million euros... If he wanted to join your team, with the offer you did, he'll normally already be a magpie!
mimi, my argument is that any claims of not wanting to come is more likely due to wages or agent fees from Newcastle.
Pardew has already stated that Erdinc's initial reaction to the move was very positive.
I guess we'll have to wait and see, who will be proved right on this one.
-
It does seem weird that Erdinc wouldn't want to come to Newcastle given that he's got to be at least 4th choice for them now, maybe lower.
Maybe it's testament to his character that he'd rather sit on the bench for a team who look set to be "going places", rather than coming to play for us?
Just looks like a negotiating tactic to me.
Sitting on the bench would show a lack of character if anything!
The guy was one of the top scorers in France just over a season ago.
If him and his agent get what they want he will leave. If not to us, then someone else. lille and Gala are after him too apparently.
I'll be shocked if he's still at PSG at the end of the window.
The fact PSG have supposedly accepted our bid, already sends the message that they do not even really see him as an option.

Hope he's more Bellamy than Lovely Pants but having said that he doesn't want to come. His workrate looks top class but he's playing to stay there and this is a pre season jaunt.

He's playing Heskey on the left?!
McLeish is digusting.
-
McLeish is going to be a disaster at Villa.
No sense to their play, just lumping it long to Agbonlahor of all people.
I see Heskey has been brought on now. A much more sizeable noggin to aim at.
-
If he is as good/perfect for us as people are saying he is then he won't be joining us, just lock the thread now.
-
Bahebeck is a decent looking prospect.
Menez is way too wasteful.
-
So, he looks like exactly what we need then...?
Would certainly add something different up top, yeah.
Looks pacy and explosive. Nice runs looking to get in behind the back four.
-
Powerfully built guy too.
-
If they keep Tevez and sign Kun, how exactly will they line up?
Can't see Tevez staying.
-
What's wrong with his forehead?
The pathetic fawning from that buffoon is literally giving him a big head.
When he starts getting big ideas, and leaves for Chelsea, we all know who to blame.
Jesus, settle down .

You seem like a realy fun guy.http://desmond.yfrog.com/Himg619/scaled.php?tn=0&server=619&filename=5s3xa.jpg&xsize=640&ysize=640
@Edo_lamancha: @milesstarforth had to thank him - 4-4 made my first match at SJP unforgettable!
Who is that loser?
Have some self respect man!
Sorry, but that is just desperate.
I mean look at that picture ... that's a grown man for goodness sake.
Pathetic!

Well that's a very good thing.
Will probably do him good in the long run too.
Knowing he can take a hard challenge I mean.

The players we have at the club who we expect to carry a threat have a poor goalscoring record (excluding the injury prone Ba).
Check out Ben Arfa, Marveaux, and Cabaye's record, very average.
Our two best scorers were shown the door.
And we are very thin on the ground as far as defenders are concerned.
If we do not sign two more decent defenders and two more strikers this squad is only 2 or 3 injuries away from a relegation fight.
And so what were Carroll's and Nolan's goal scoring records prior to last season?
You lot go on as if they had been scoring consistently for years.
Their records prior to last season were no better than the players you mention.
What's to say they would have continued scoring goals?
Very simplistic viewpoint and a terribly weak argument.
-
How much did Sunderland pay for Wickham again?
Was surprised they didn't go for Bendtner tbh.
Wasn't it Bruce he played for in the Championship when he was top scorer for Birmingham that year. Scored 19 goals or something if I remember correctly.
-
Tottenham aren't looking too hot this summer.
Usually pretty good with getting players in early.
Not really linked to players as much as they usually are either, doesn't seem like they're up to much so far.
-
Pathetic.

"Have to rely on that English spirit .... "
To be fair the English always seem to capitulate in sport, so that saying is really becoming inappropriate.
-
Gary Hooper
I wouldn't complain. Think he looks a real talent. Surprised we haven't been linked.
-
I won't be surprised if his I want to stay in Paris talk is a ploy to get a better contract offer from us. Likely already talking to his agent.
I thought all the posturing might be due to wage demands.
-
Bendtner is terrible at Arsenal but I think that's more to do with him being more of a traditional centre forward. He tries too hard to be like all the other twinkle toed striker/wingers and just looks a mess.
That season he had at Birmingham on loan at just 19 had me thinking he was going to be a huge talent. He has been a big dissapointment since returning to Arsenal though.
I think in a different team he would be much better. Just how good is anyone's guess though. He could definitely just do with being played central all the time, and at least seeing some crosses come into the box once in a while.
Would be worth taking a chance on.

How full of shit is Robbie Savage?
Jack Wilshere potentially better than Fabregas?! Based on what? What a tool!
