  1. It was the same setup as against Spurs. Out of possession Krafth, Schar and Burn as a back three, Murphy and Anderson at wing back and Longstaff and Bruno in midfield. Barnes, Isak and Gordon forward three. In possession more of a 4-3-3, with the front three staying the same, Anderson coming into midfield with Longstaff and Bruno and a back back four of Murphy, Krafth, Schar and Burn. We were switching between the two depending on whether we were in or out of possession.
  2. Kudos to the new Palace manager. Seems they got a good one. His 3-4-2-1 works well, and they are getting more and more comfortable playing it. He's getting the best out of their better players already too, and Mateta, who has always had some great physical tools, is now being unlocked in a better setup. Eddie sticking with the Spurs setup to match their 3 at the back system was probably the right shout, however, we shouldn't have done so without actual wing backs. Murphy and Anderson dropping into those positions defensively didn't work going against a proper 3-4-2-1 and a manager who uses this tactic all the time and specializes in it.
  3. Always worried anytime we play a team that presses well this season and has a lot of energy in midfield. Only Bruno can deal with it really. Longstaff is so depressingly poor in those situations and so we struggle to then really get going. Anderson is still going to have his ups and downs as a younger guy, so can't be too upset with him. We miss having Joelinton's strength to hold off players and carry the ball in there so much. Willock's ball carrying also has been missed in there. Just been a lot of managing through this issue so much of this season. It has sucked.
  4. Yeah, exactly. They were playing a diamond type formation and he ended up in that right channel a lot, it was a different sort of role. Their build up play was also very slow and control based, so didn't get him into space much.
  5. Really glad our scouting was more refined and was able to see past that. Appears many others didn't. No context applied for the type of player he was, the team he was currently playing in and how his attributes would translate to the Premier League.
  6. Can't let @Froggy get too comfortable on here man. Nothing personal!
  7. Oh man, the cope is real. Unfortunately for you, getting older doesn't automatically mean improvement, especially at your club. Ask Martial. Our strikers value has already doubled and even your fans are all over the place gagging for him, along with everyone else. We'll soon see the mess you'll make of Hojlund, who you won't get your money back for right now. He's already looking worse each week from how he started. You are in the mud.
  8. You can have your Carabao and busted flush Brazilian who the Coventry boys were skipping past for fun. I'll have Isak thanks. What's especially funny about your proclamations about Isak, is that you then spent even more on Hojlund who has been more injured and had an even lesser goal record prior to signing for you. Hold that L man.
  9. Just a friendly reminder that @Froggygloated and mocked with his trademark emoji, when we paid £60 million for Isak. Citing an inability to score goals. While at the same time celebrating the £60 million purchase of a Brazilian relic whose legs have expired within a year and who will now already need replacing. More comedy moments to come this summer. Watch this space.
  10. We'll see man. Chelsea got in a lot of people that were highly qualified, but the man at the top was a buffoon and we saw how that all transpired. Summer soon come.
  11. Quite looking forward to your summer dealings. Think it's going to be jokes.
  12. I just don't understand how you send £100 million plus on a player that is performing at this level. What were they seeing in the guy to justify that kind of outlay?! My God ... They are young though, like you say, so let's see. Maybe things change. But watching Enzo I'm not sure he has the legs, physicality or the engine to keep up in midfield in the Prem. He is so invisible in there.
  13. Ashworth had barely got his feet under the table here and was supposed to be a big part of things, and Ratcliffe thinks they should be paying similar to what we paid Brighton?! The high compensation serves two purposes. To penalize Man Utd for disrupting things for us, and to make things difficult for Ashworth so he can't just go swanning off to Man Utd so easily, the cheeky git. I actually thought Man Utd might be on their way to getting their house in order with this Ratcliffe coming in initially, but this guy isn't a sharp guy. I think he's going to be a dunce and they'll soon turn on him.
  14. Jackson is typically involved in a lot of Chelsea's best play, and never coasts through games, he is always everywhere. He cannot under any circumstances be relied upon for goals at this stage of his development though. He is too erratic in those moments. He causes a lot of problems though, and in a team with more clinical players would be even more valuable. It's just Palmer that does anything in the team though.
  15. I think Enzo Fernandez gets away with murder. Never see his name mentioned during Chelsea games. That man doesn't do anything and is so lightweight in midfield. Bern a shocking signing for what they paid. Absolutely mental.
  16. There was someone on here saying he has been ordinary this season and invisible in big games. I could not believe it.

Giving Joelinton a new contract really set a good precedent. Think it will give others more confidence to commit. Really need to prioritise rewarding key players in the team when the time is right. Looks like this Isak one is to not apply the reduction in wages due to no Champions League, which would be fair enough having performed at the level he has, and with the interest in him. Good move getting ahead of things.
  18. I never said he would play a role in our first team! I said he would get far more staying and training with the first team. And if we had a bunch of injuries perhaps he could get game time. Or at least be on the bench to throw on for some minutes like we saw with some others this season.
  19. Well that's the problem. He's not their player. They're never going to have the same level of investment or commitment to the player. If he's not going to play at these clubs then let him not play at Newcastle instead, and at least train against far better players and get better guidance and development.
  20. You actually think we're the ones being stupid about this? We already have plans in place for our recruitment this summer, which the people at the club have shown they can handle already, and we are down to final interviews for a new DOF. You lot are the ones in complete limbo still. And this Ratcliffe guy isn't coming across well. Seems a bit daft. And in that marathon interview he seems like he's panicking about people not being in place yet. Think you're going to be in for a very dodgy summer.

Of course they are free to say how they feel. I'm just surprised there is such a level of concern over players leaving.
  22. Loved the Les Ferdinand Overlap. Was really interesting actually. Thought he came across so well too. It's a tough gig for sure, as an up and coming DOF. So much to balance. I find the loan thing somewhat irritating tbh. I wish managers would just have more of a plan and more trust in bringing youngsters through, or at least giving them a chance without them having had to go on loan somewhere first. Kuol would have been better off staying and getting some sessions of training with the first team, and with all the injuries we had, maybe he gets a chance and rises to the occasion like Miley did. If not the training would at least have been at a higher level than he has had, and in the exact system and style we play.

The fear and dread people have for this is just astonishing. So many seemingly still can't handle having anything good at the club. Incredibly sad really.
  24. Looking at the lines you can't give that surely?!
