Top marks for telling Liverpool where to go.

You're going to typically have the lion share of possession most games, and feature midfielders that can move the ball around the pitch and progress it into forward areas pretty easily, not to mention play him in behind when he makes forward runs. You'll also have a major threat on the right wing of your team that commands most of the attention. Dare I say he's going to find things much easier with you in general and so you'll likely see the best version of him when you do have the ball. Off the ball he's going to give you a ton of energy pressing and defending, especially as he'll now have to do less defending in general as your lot will tend to control games against most of the sides you face.

That is really good. Very good actually.

Wouldn't this just be because no company would be keen on just a one year deal, and so it would come at a reduced rate? But from Newcastle's point of view they'd rather just get some money in for a year, and then look at something more long term next year, when they're anticipating the club being in a stronger position, hopefully back in Europe, having sorted out all the mess from last summer that resulted in a mid table finish and no European football, which isn't allowing them to attract the kind of long term deals they're after?

There was folks pushing for us to sign Zaha after Palace Lost count of the places he's rocked up at and done absolutely nothing since. Guy can only perform (somewhat I suppose) in Palace's colours. Weird guy.

They're still saying he's not for sale apparently. They're determined to ruin that guy's life

There's some rumours that Konate is going to Chelsea That will infuriate Liverpool fans no end. Go on then

I'm going to guess PSG.

According to a newspaper, although the Bundesliga champions had agreed personal terms with Gordon, their transfer fee offer was lower than Barca's, which allowed Hansi Flick's side to gain control after negotiations were prolonged. Bayern Munich directors are said to have believed that Barca were bluffing in their negotiations with Gordon and that news of their talks was purposely leaked to pressure Manchester United into lowering their asking fee for Marcus Rashford.

It has to be the way in the interim as the club continues to grow. Provided they continue to do what is needed off the pitch and provided the team can perform on the pitch and become European mainstays and Champions League semi-regulars at least, then increasingly players will stick around more and you can build something substantial.

Because we played so little of that 4-2-3-1 it's difficult to even know who fits where, and so I hope the manager and his team are clear on it. The two times we played this setup at the end of the season, we started one game with Joelinton on the left and the other with Ramsey on the left. Is Howe seeing those two as wide men in that setup? Or will they be used as double pivot options going forward? Recruitment will be shaped by however that question is answered you'd think.

He joined them in 2024. He's got 8 league goals this season and has been outscored by Sorloth in the league both seasons he's been there. He's wasted under Simeone who plays sit back and counter football.

Would make a ton of sense as a Gordon replacement

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco are admirers of Gordon, who they see filling the role played by Marcus Rashford this season. Rashford, 28, spent the campaign on loan from Manchester United, registering 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances. Barcelona hold a €30m option — which expires on June 15 — to sign Rashford permanently. The Catalan side have yet to decide whether to take up that option but believe a deal for Gordon, despite involving a higher fee, could end up having a similar financial impact to Rashford due to the former Everton man’s lower salary demands and their willingness to offer him a longer contract, due to his age, enabling them to amortise the cost of his transfer fee over a longer period. The club wants a versatile forward who can act on both flanks and provide top-quality depth to their attacking line. In Gordon, Barca’s decision-makers also see a player who, beyond his attacking qualities, provides that much required off-the-ball pressing. There is also the belief that mobile players and willing runners can also help maximise the qualities of Barcelona’s main star, Lamine Yamal. Gordon ticks all those boxes, and those at the club are convinced that playing under manager Hansi Flick will only help the England international to show his best version.

He's had a good season in a disgustingly negative West Ham side. Could see him looking so much more dangerous in a much better team. He's off to the World Cup now too, and so will be interesting to see how he gets on. For that sort of fee I'd be incredibly tempted. I like his game. Think someone decent in the Prem is going to sign him and will look very clever by the end of next season. N'Diaye at Everton gets a lot of kudos, and I think he's had a comparable season in a worse team.

There's some interesting bits around this guy as he was previously at Barca. I wonder if part of the deal for Gordon involves Barca passing up on the money they would receive if we are signing him, and so that is added to their fee, hence some reports of only 60 million pounds from their end? Them signing Gordon also means they are unlikely to now re-sign Abde, which they were also considering, but apparently he wants to play regularly in the first team as part of any move. As such, Barça still retain 20% of Abde’s economic rights. And with Betis pointing interested parties towards his €60 million release clause, the Blaugrana could receive 20% of that sum, i.e., €12 million in the summer. Interestingly, Barcelona had been considering re-signing Abde to reinforce the left wing, with a permanent move for Marcus Rashford deemed unlikely. https://barcauniversal.com/barcelona-set-for-major-windfall-as-former-winger-attracts-serious-interest/#:~:text=Financial windfall for Barcelona if Abde leaves&text=The winger is under contract, considering triggering in the summer.&text=If that happens%2C Barcelona would,12 million from the transfer.

Article says he has a 60 million Euro release clause that Newcastle are prepared to meet.
-
Bet Hansi Flick checked in with Tuchel about him too, just like the Bayern bunch did, which would have helped this along.

It's beyond belief really, but to be expected on here I guess
