Wissa seems quite vocal. I like that. This team really needs more of that.

It's really weird man. This is the kind of thing these useless journo's should be asking about. Instead they're asking Woltemade if he has found a girlfriend.

We concede so many goals from this nonsense. Just having one midfielder sit a bit deeper makes things a lot more secure. Bruno instead is actually pushing forward from that position on their goal and none of them managed to get back as Fulham's midfielders just run into the space behind them all. It's pretty outrageous.

Redknapp talking about our flat midfield three that the Fulham midfielders all skipped in behind on their goal How long has this been discussed on here and why is this still not being sorted out? None of the midfield three even noticed Fulham's midfielders strolling into the space behind them as none of them have dropped a bit deeper. I just don't get it.

I fear who will go into that position if he goes off. Our build up is somewhat okayish with him in that position and has been tragic when he's not playing there.
-
One of the best pressing and harrying from the front during his time at Brentford.
-
Shocking ball from Bruno.
-
They are both so good finding forward passes. Schar over the top and Thiaw with incredible line breakers. Actually wish they would stride forward and look to initiate things more, when the midfield is struggling to find space.
-
Great ball from Schar again to find Wissa. That ball is there all game with this mid block from Fulham crowding out the middle.
-
Tino shouldn't be allowed to leave the training ground till he sorts out his crossing and shooting.
-
Well played Ramsey.
-
Lots of poor decision making.
-
Just play Tino in there. Barnes man.
-
Barnes took too long to release that and missed both Wissa and Ramsey. Tends to dwell on the ball too long in those situations.
-
The heck is Schar doing.
-
Nice defending. Looked like they had 5 people free in the box. None of the midfield runners picked up. Neither Willock or Ramsey tracking back.
-
It's ridiculous. Teams just push up and crowd our midfield. Daring us to play a ball over the top. Thankfully Schar finally did just that, and it's led to a goal. Why we don't punish teams in behind more when they push up like this I don't know.

Never saw a Newcastle player even lay a finger on Xhaka and Sadiki who were both very comfortable. They were pretty much camped in Newcastle's half the first 45 mins. Looked like they were having a good old time to me.
-
Yeah, the invisible midfield is all Gordon and Elanga's fault as well I'm sure. Must be down to them as well we were being pinned back by Xhaka and Sadiki, who both seemed to be having the time of their lives out there.
-
Because he's been playing poorly in the middle. Particularly with getting the ball up the pitch from the back, which is crucial in that position. We cannot progress the ball because he is not doing enough to find space to receive the ball and start play out from the back. He's been really bad at that.

Ironically there's a narrative starting to circulate that Isak was never that good and is massively overrated, and he only did well at Newcastle because teams didn't respect the team, and never sat back against them. Apparently now he's at a "big club" that teams sit back against, he's proving he's not up to it. So yeah ... apparently both Elanga and Isak were always shit, because they operate better when they are played into space and can exploit some of their best attributes. Never mind the clubs failing to properly utilise the players they've spent so much money on, or even signing them in the first place and expecting them to play in a completely different way. Everything they achieved previously has now been rendered null and void. They're just "shit".

Eddie needs to go back to the style of play we originally played under him, with far more energy and intensity. I'm not convinced he is capable of coaching a more possession based style and he hasn't signed enough players capable of playing that way. We have a much better guy in Bunce now that can help tailor training for that style of play so we hopefully don't suffer as much injury wise, and we also have more of a squad to help with that also, and should continue to build up the squad further so it's even stronger. We just sit off teams way too much now and invite them into us and then struggle to play out from the back. He really needs to change things.
-
What's even more ridiculous is targeting these kinds of wingers specifically, and then not purposefully playing in a way that emphasizes what makes them dangerous, and limits their flaws!
-
You sold him for a pittance and he went on to register 11 goals and 20 assists in the Prem over two seasons, and moved for £55 million. It's yet another example of poor business by Man Utd. Looks like Mainoo is up next for similar. It's up to Newcastle now to put him in position to succeed and show the kind of form he has at Forest previously.
-
I don't understand why you'd sign a player that has had success elsewhere, and not put them in positions that at least somewhat mimic what allowed them to succeed previously. Elanga is not a technical player to be interchanging passes with. He's an outlet winger you want to get in behind, or 1 in 1 in transition with lots of space, like we did against Barca and Union SG. Aside from those games, we hardly ever even manage to play him in behind successfully. We're seeing the same thing with Isak at Liverpool. They play slow football that never gets the ball forward quickly to him in space and he looks unbelievably bad. You'd never believe it was the same player we had.
