  1. Wise move to leave him on!
  2. I think he'll finally play the front four that virtually every fan wants to see only due to the flak he's had this week not through his own choice!
  3. My exact thoughts when I read that quote! I didn't think that I'd dislike a NUFC manager more than Pardew but I well and truly do!
  4. From "Judge me after 10 games" to "You can't judge me after 53 games"! Biggest fraud in football!
  5. He said: "Quietly we want to go about our business. "With the help of my CEO (Lee Charnley) that is what we'll be allowed to do, and what we will continue to try to do. Bit by bit. "Hopefully it will make us bigger and stronger and that takes time. "We can't instantly do it. "We can't do it straight away but bit by bit we can improve."
  6. Just read it https://theathletic.co.uk/2150351/2020/10/22/newcastle-all-83-shots-darlow/
  7. When we signed Shearer he was easily in the top 3 strikers in the world. You can easily equate him to the Mbappe fee, maybe not quite Neymar due to his image rights but certainly north of £150m Easily! He was the most sought-after CF in the world after finising top scorer at Euro 96 as well as scoring 31, 34, 31 Premier League goals in the previous three seasons! Over £200m for me!
  8. Chalk and cheese from the comments he made after a defeat at Southampton, which made Rafa sit up and take notice (and eventually make him captain) It's pathetic brown-nosing of cabbage-heed. 100% The usual suspects are basically talking for him - Shelvey that other saying we play good football and not long ball like we used to under Rafa FFS!
  9. Ha ha I'l have look - really good interview with Alex mind - shows the Club up for their (SHOCK!) lack of dialogue with them!
  10. Just by standard inflation: £29,053,893.23 But with football inflation, probably about £90M You can easily double that and the rest!
  11. 2-0! Rondon did a superb 'Shearer in the corner' impression for the last five minutes
  12. Rafa's mob on Sky channel 422 and 2-0 up! I miss those hand gestures on the touchline :'( :'( :'(
  13. The Government has responded to the petition you signed – “Allow football fans to attend matches at all levels”. Government responded: We will take the earliest opportunity to look again at getting spectators safely back into stadia but this must clearly be done carefully against the prevailing health conditions. Football clubs form the bedrock of our communities and play a vital role in the local economy. Their importance has been clearly demonstrated throughout the pandemic with clubs at all levels providing incredible support to their area. That is why the Government is committed to supporting sports clubs up and down the country, with many football clubs benefitting from the Government’s unprecedented financial support to businesses. The Government is fully aware of the importance of getting spectators back into stadia for many sports, and the financial consequences of the decision not to allow this from 1 October. The evidence received from the Chief Medical Officer was very clear that at a time of rapidly rising infections, and when the Government was considering restrictions elsewhere, it was not the right time to undertake any further easements. We will continue to work closely with a whole range of sports to understand the latest thinking that might allow spectators to return. This includes the creation of a new Sports Technology Innovation Working Group of sporting bodies and health experts to analyse new technologies which might support this. This will supplement the draft government guidance, and the SGSA supplementary guidance to their Green Guide, which has been internationally welcomed. We are committed to getting spectators back into stadia as soon as it is safe to do so. Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport

  15. He's knocked me on three first scorer trebles in four weeks - the useless git! Latest one was Lukaku, Lewandowski and him - 62/1!
  16. Damning article this - corrupt as; https://theathletic.co.uk/2133409/2020/10/16/the-big-six-football-premier-league/ "In the eyes of those present, it was the ultimate “them and us” episode — the moment the illusion of solidarity across the Premier League was shattered once and for all. It was a Premier League shareholders meeting in November 2016 and, while media coverage beforehand had focused on the safe-standing debate, by far the biggest issue at stake that day was the need to find a new broadcast partner in China. Among several proposals on the table, the most popular was from pay-per-view company PPTV, who were offering £523 million for the right to stream every Premier League match in China over the three-year period from 2019-20. After the pros and cons were debated at length, an executive from one of the bigger clubs ventured they were going to have to go away and think about it. No, said the league’s executive chairman Richard Scudmore; this had to be decided here and now. And so, as they broke off for coffee and biscuits, a remarkable scene unfolded. There, in full view of their counterparts from the other 14 clubs, the executives from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur formed their own huddle in a corner of the room and proceeded to debate among themselves, in hushed tones, before reaching a consensus that they then took back to the table when the full meeting resumed. “It was just so brazen,” says an executive from one of the other 14 clubs. “A few things had emerged before that about them having their own meetings. There had been a growing sense of a divide between the biggest clubs and the rest of us. But that really seemed to cement it in everyone’s minds.”
  17. Absolutely incredible in super slow-mo! It literally doesn’t look real!
