  12. Yohan Cabaye believes his former club Newcastle United will be making a mistake if they offload Haten Ben Arfa this summer. Ben Arfa is tipped to leave St James' Park after falling out of favour under Alan Pardew last season. The 27-year-old was frozen out of the first-team at Newcastle after a bust-up with Pardew and the club are thought to be ready to listen to offers. Cabaye, who left Newcastle to join Paris Saint-Germain in January, is confident Ben Arfa will bounce back if indeed he does move to a new club, but fears the Magpies will be letting one of their most talented players depart. "I have not talked to him (about a departure)," Cabaye told Foot Mercato. "This is a situation that he must manage on his side. For me, he remains an extraordinary player with enormous quality. "It is true that it was harder for him late in the season. He is going to bounce back and find more opportunities with another team. "For me, this is one of the players I've played with who has the highest quality. "If he decides to return home, that will be good for the French league."
  13. Yep - it's annoying that half of that debt has came about during his tenure mostly down to getting relegated through his lunacy! Fat wanker!
  14. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2648989/Premier-League-TV-bonanza-sees-players-wages-rise-2bn-2-5m-season-man-gap-flight-Championship-widens.html Of the £2.5 billion net debt in the Premier League, almost two thirds (£1.6 billion) is in the form of non-interest bearing ‘soft loans’ of which over 90 per cent related to four clubs - Chelsea (£984m), Newcastle United (£266m), Queens Park Rangers (£166m) and Aston Villa (£72m).
  15. I'm certain Shearer had been out for a year after smashing his knee and came off the bench that day to score!
  16. He's a decent Premier League centre half, man. He's absolutely nowhere near as bad as you make out. As for the Monday Night Football mention - we played on a Monday night just once in the second half of the season, against Arsenal. Granted, he had a poor game but against a team with the style of Arsenal he was basically doing the job of 3 men with Williamson & Dummett alongside him. We were barely noteworthy in the second half of the season so I'm doubtful Neville & Carragher even gave us much of a mention in the coverage of other teams games. Prior to the Arsenal game, Neville and Carragher did a piece on him about how he is vital to us at the back - Ronaldo must have missed that!

What a man! It's a tragedy that he's not involved at our club in some format! I'd have him back as manager any day! Some canny commentary by Roger Thames too! Ben Johnson on the magic pills!
