The main negative of an Alonso reign would just be the media constantly acting like it was a warm up to taking the Liverpool job, especially if he had success here. Suppose that’s one of the reasons (not the only) why I’m still wanting to stick with Howe. He seems committed to this club and seems to want to make his legacy at this club. Alonso and/or Fabregas could be great but would probably just be transitory presences here.

Given the our third last and second last games are against Forest and West Ham, we have a massive part to play on if they go down or not.
