PIF are providing additional funding to all the teams just they have full control over those four. Every club will be getting at least marquee player I think.

The way I look at it is we’ve bought a guy who was pretty much an ever present in a title winning team aged 21 who certainly hasn’t hit his ceiling yet. £55m is more that market rate for that quality.

I’ve always felt it’s for sale but only for an amount well above it’s actual value, walk away money, if that makes sense. Otherwise why would you sell an asset that makes you money each year which you don’t have to put your own dollar into. Either way we are fully into the transfer window now, would be very hard to have much of a plan if it was to to go through now.

Been really impressed with him in the u21s. Fact that he’s starting for them consistently shows he’s rated in the England set up. Think he’ll have a much better season. The amount of people (mostly scousers) desperate for him to fail will be getting converted to motivation by Eddie and the team.

My theory is that some of the DH gate stuff is made in the same factories, so are effectively identical. Perhaps any surplus they make just gets sold directly. All these major manufacturers are a number of subcontractors removed from where the stuff is actually made. Wouldn’t surprise me.

It could cost more in real terms but we are probably more likely to breach FFP on wage ratio than we are on the spend on fees.

Yeah you can probably pay more on fee and less on wages if you buy from the continent. In terms our FFP wages are probably a bigger risk than fee amounts.

Apparently in the recent Juve case they used Transfermarkt values to try and demonstrate that the Pjanic and Arthur moves were way above market value.

Looks like an offer intended to open the dialogue between the clubs and gauge the player’s willingness to move. Wont be done for £60m but I could see them selling overseas for £80m
