I was chuffed when we signed Routledge but he's exceeded my expectations up to this point. He was fantastic for us last season and ran the show against Wolves a few weeks back. It's good to hear he's played well today and he's getting a bit of recognition. Very good player who's getting better and better.
I think people are overrating him a tad, but he's solid enough, and consistent with his headers. But Stick him alongside a Fitz Hall, and we all saw what happened.
No sure how you can say with certainly that Hughton is learning from his mistakes. He essentially picked a player on saturday that clearly held us back in The Championship.
Was it bollocks his best performance in a toon shirt. Home to Brum and Chelsea twice in consecutive seasons stick out. A fantastic ball to Bernard at the Gallowgate rounding off a magnificent game in particular.
Never said it was 'bad' as such. But we can all agree that Shearer was rarely effective unless the players behind him were doing their bit. Best striker in the league by a mile for a good few years, don't get me wrong.
