  1. I've always found the ratio of black players to black managers pretty staggering. Then again, the genetic factors that give black players the advantage don't correlate with managerial capabilities at a guess

    RIP sale thread.

The club belongs to Ashley, more gate recipts = more money for the club

    Nile Ranger

You suggested that because of his build, he was unlikely to have good acceleration. Speed over short distances comes from genetics or muscle mass. Ranger isn't even that big a guy anyway, so the point is obsolete to begin with.

    Man City

Anelka isn't as good a footballer, but a better finisher and gets more goals because he doesn't work as hard for the team.

I think Shearer saw the subs bench looming when Kluivert joined and Bellamy looked easily our best player in the first half of that season, 10 goals by december man.

    Nile Ranger

it's more than 6 appearances man I have faith in Nile to deliver eventually btw, just not quite yet in a starting role.
  7. You don't take chances when it comes to goalkeeping, that should be blatantly obvious. Especially when lack of goals conceded is the only thing keeping us at the top of the table.
  8. But probably better than at least a fifth of the rubbish we'll see at WC 2010
  9. Drogba would anihilate everything in his path with Xavi behind him, not that he doesn't already like
  10. Mascherano would start for all of them. So would Reina. Not for Chelsea, Essien surely. Essien's a better player, probably the best CM in the prem for me, he's wasted in an out and out defensive role though. Needs to be able to get box to box more - I'm sure Chelsea have played several games this season with Mikel behind Essien - bring in Mascherano for Mikel there and that's a big improvement. I agree, but still think they'll prefer the two up front and Lampard & Essien in the middle, like they did against Liverpool. I expect Chelsea to win it this year. Agreed on Chelsea, they should walk it this year. The only concern would be losing players in January, but their fixtures look pretty easy this year anyway. Their team is awesome when it gets going, for all the talk about Gerrard and Torres, if everyone is at 100% I'd have Drogba and Essien over them everyday.

    "fucking prick" and rightly so
  12. Take it you missed WC 94 and 02 then? Rather the Irish than most horrifically bad footballing nations out there.

Taking him off against Charlton when we were 1-1 with a while left to play. He'd got our goal and looked by far our best player. Not having a go at Shearer but he looked absolutely knackered and of course stayed on. Clearly the scottish cunt flexing his ailing muscle.
  14. According to who, your pal Mr Magoo? Clearly at fault for the second goal, horrible keeping tbh Yes, as I alluded to earlier it's obvious that a keeper who is exposed more often is going to make more mistakes.... This is from Mr Magoo's match report, written for nufc.com: Ronaldo just doesn't like him. Playing well won't change his mind. playing well, what utter tripe I do like him, he's a good prospect. But few keepers are ready for first team football at 21 and he's no exception. Shot stopping is the easiest aspect of goalkeeping, it looks the hardest at times but isn't. Judgement, decision making and handling under pressure are far more diffcult attributes to master, in these areas he's looked nothing short of a liability.
  15. Had we conceded once against Cardiff, Leicester, Sheff Wed and Brom, we'd be in 7th place right now. We're not in a position to blood a keeper at the expense of goals man.
  16. watch the game yourself (or the highlights) next time

    Man City

Only his attitude which prevented it, tbh. If he'd have kept his mouth shut THAT season, he'd have got a move in the summer to a top club instead of getting hounded off to Celtic. THAT is more truthful than all this "step up in level" "Bust up" the whole "everyone's fault but his" crap Look - he STILL isn't getting the amount of goals his talent should be dishing out. He's STILL one of the prime "All my way, and when it goes wrong its not my fault" types. When it went wrong on the pitch, 9 times out of ten it was he who changed the game for us. His record is roughly 1 in 3. For a player of that type it's blatantly a damn good return.
  19. and Krul has looked an absolute fucking liability in the 2 games he's played this season. Which do you choose? Honestly, what absolute nonsense. Keeping isn't a problem and wont be in the short to medium term.

    Man City

I'd rather have him than Anelka and Kalou, any of Man U's strikers bar Rooney, any of Arsenal's bar Robin VP and all but Torres at Liverpool easily good enough for the top 4, he got us there twice and will help Man City achieve the same come May

Norwich to Coventry - Step up in level Coventry to Newcastle - Step up in level Newcastle to Celtic - Bust-up Newcastle to Blackburn - Same as above Blackburn to Liverpool - Step up in level Liverpool to West Ham - Not good enough, regular first-team football West Ham to Man City - Step up in level Apart from the Souness bust-up, all his other moves have been for the best for his career.
  22. 1.Chelsea 2.Liverpool 3.Man U 4.Man City 5.Arsenal 6.Spurs 7.Everton 8.Villa ftw
  23. completely bang on. Beyond the defence, I have little to zero faith in our players being good enough to keep us in the premiership
