Carroll did too much running at time last night, he doesn't really have the stamina to do that over 90 minutes. He needs to concentrate on getting into the right positions instead of winning physical duels. I'd still start Carroll on Saturday like. But he's similar to Ranger in that he isn't really the answer yet

It was nowt to do with homework imo We gave the ball away far too often and just seemed to lack shape, structure and any sort of a plan other than to whack it to Carroll. And don't even get me started on the first half, the midfield were pretty much bossed from start to finish due to the ridiculous diamond formation in which we ended up with 4 cloggers scrapping for the same ball in the middle of the park. Absolutely embarrassing.

This is almost a shame. It was funny seeing him stay on the bench, game after game after game.

lots of arguing amongst the players tonight, both Nolan and Smith were absolutely laying into Taylor in the first half, Smith gave him one hell of a bollocking for not pushing up at one point. I felt bad for Enrique in the first half, Butt was supposed to be playing in front of him but wandered into the middle, the useless cunt

I actually think Ranger is the far better prospect of the two tbh. Carroll will never ever be a top striker imo, I know that's basically throwing darts at a board but he doesn't really demonstrate genuine ability with his feet very often at all. That said, Carroll right now can be very effective at this level and i'm content for him to remain in the team until Pele returns.

He's not getting a chance because he hasn't earned one yet. Ranger's been far more effective and worked much harder when given a first team shirt. Ranger hasn't scored in 8 games against utterly useless opposition. Lovenkrands always tries hard imo and showed last season that he can make an impact when it matters

Why clearly not? You're here arguing that our senior players should be playing because they're much better. Well considering their experience and probable wages both Harewood and Lovenkrands should be keeping the likes of Carroll and Ranger out of the starting line-up. I misunderstood, my apologies.
