  1. Steady is exactly what you want from a centre half though? If you're referring to him at left back then fair enough. If, since Enrique left, we'd had a LB who defends consistently well, attacks the ball well from set pieces but isn't great on the ball we'd have finished higher than 5th, 16th and 10th.
  2. Imagine, the 19th richest club in the world being 4th for 2 hours. Mind-blowing stuff.
  3. I do think that we've produced so much shite for so long that our youngsters get a much narrower benefit of doubt than those from other academies.
  4. Decline in true working class areas north of the border will play a part.
  5. Except nobody said it was. Except it's a clear implication from the above posts. It really isn't. We were up against a side lacking quality, but one who competed well and naturally probably had more desire to win the game. We were levels above, played good football and scored 3 goals. There are positives to be taken, that's all.
  6. Except nobody said it was.
  7. Souness and Carragher having a fight.
  8. Where were USA's first team, like?
  9. Yeah, been a while since I've enjoyed an England game as much as that. We were very good.
  10. What a player, man. Captain fucking fantastic.
  11. Get in Rooney. The bitterness in that Scottish commentator's voice.
  12. Lost out to the mighty Crystal Palace. Southampton.
  13. What is being applauded? He's dead. Have silence.
  14. As if the England team coach still displays a tax disc.
  15. Just the two greatest NUFC players of the past 30 years+.
  16. Taking lessons from Pardew.
  17. He had an opportunity to publically oppose Pardew and increase the pressure on him, and didn't. Even defended him and said he shouldn't be sacked. Hatem does whatever makes his life easier and always will. Hell of a talent, wasted.
  18. Fair enough. Just winds me up the usual suspects downplaying the PL all the time. There's a reason none you watch the Bundesliga as often.
  19. My barber told me yesterday that van Gaal told the media/fans in August to judge him on his first 3 months. That hasn't worked too well.
  20. This is certainly debatable from the absolute dross the premier league has been this season. The general footballing standard is better in the Bundesliga, even if the Premier League is traditionally a more attractive proposition and able to attract better players. The Bundesliga offers a generally better standard of football with considerably less resources, I'd say. Absolutely, a better product all round really. Why not support a team from there, then?
  21. I went to most games for over 19 years. I was treat like a criminal once, and that was in Marseille. And that rule, by the sounds of it, would be about as difficult to get round for Mike Ashley as a fence made of sticks and sellotape. Beer in the stands, for crying out loud. As if that lends itself to a significantly better matchday experience - especially coming from someone talking about the liability of alcohol to the taxpayer a few weeks backs.
  22. It certainly tends to when there's a far better standard of players on the pitch. How are fans treated like criminals? As if standing is a good thing. What about beer? And how don't they allow 'Ashley style' ownership? What sanctions are in place to prevent lack of emotional/financial investment? Sounds like you're just telling fibs.
  23. I wasn't responding to you. As if I or anyone else gives a shit about Adam Campbell.
