Still calling him a winger. I hope Mark Douglas gets hit by a bus.

Is Dummett playing?

Cabella's in there all the time apparently.

In the way he did? Personally I found the whole chapter embarrassing, damaging and not befitting of our club. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if Bellamy used the situation to engineer a move away. Souness was 100% wrong to use him the way he did and Bellamy was right, Souness wasn't the right man etc. we all knew that, but he feigned injury by all accounts and caused an uproar behind the scenes. At the time, Bellamy vs Souness was like choosing between good and evil, but in hindsight they were both bad apples if you like. Selfishly of course Bellamy was more important to the club in terms of how good he was and what he brought to the team, but we were well shot of him as we were Souness. FS should of fired them both together. Fired our best player because he didn't get on with a manager who put his own ego before the club. Quality. Brilliant insight. Bold is nonsense, too.

Lallana and Henderson were shocking there. He may be well past his best but even at 36 Frank Lampard would moonwalk into that midfield.

I'd honestly rather watch Ireland try to play football than any of that nonsense.

No wonder NUFC is in such a state if you believe that Bellamy was a symbol of the club's greatness - the only wonder is that you actually want Pardew out. Have you always been this thick? The only time we've enjoyed football even approaching great in the past 17 years has direct correlation with Bellamy's 3 full seasons. Having the capacity to recognise this has nothing to do with the state of the club. It is, however, basic common sense.

Eh? Was he really high up or what?

Blame Merlin for his utterly embarrassing take on a player whose arrival and departure symbolised the beginning and end of the last great period to be an NUFC fan.

Strange argument. They didn't do that actually, or couldn't have without the likes of Shearer, Given, Speed and Solano already in the side. All of whom had finished in the bottom half for 4 seasons. Nobody said we could have done it without them, but Bellamy and Robert were responsible for the vast improvement. We were absolutely crying out for 2 players like that, and getting them facilitated the leap from finishing 13th (98, 99) and 11th (00, 01) to 4th and 3rd.

Not sure where you got your stats from, but his best ever season for any club was at Blackburn where he scored 13 league goals in 27 matches (17 goals in all competitions in 32 games - 4 goals against Huddersfield (then in League 1) and QPR (who finished 21st in the Championship)). He's never been prolific as his finishing wasn't good enough. He was helped enormously by Shearer and vice versa. He quite blatantly helped Blackburn Rovers and Shefki Kuqi to 6th a season after scoring 10 goals for us before Christmas, following 3 seasons of us being top 5 with him which we've failed to better from 1997 to present day. I'd say there's ample evidence that Bellamy had a massively positive effect on NUFC. Anyone arguing otherwise is following a bitter little agenda. Shearer could still play, no doubt. But 4 consecutive seasons of finishing in the bottom half to repeat title challengers? Robert and Bellamy did that.
-
Aye. Not as if he scored 17 goals in 26 games for Blackburn Rovers - with the 'target man role' expertly fulfilled by Shefki Kuqi.
-
Factor in a few Mackems and it's a clear majority who still want him out.
-
He had a bit of (mostly deserved) criticism after Marseille and obviously that reaction to the poor performance/result at home to Wolves. He was hardly treated poorly.
-
I don't even know who this is.

Anyone doubting Bellamy's contribution should have a look at 02-03. He played a part in a staggering amount of goals that season.
-
Bellamy is a jumped-up ignorant worm - had a decent spell at NUFC under SBR but has always been a trouble-maker and stirrer. Not worth a tuppeny toss... A 'decent spell'. He was very arguably our best player for the 3 seasons we finished in our highest positions since Keegan. In your view, maybe - he missed easy chances and he was the main beneficiary of Shearer's ability to take the pressure and lead the line. All Bellamy did was pick up the pieces Absolute garbage.

Wasn't his last one actually a fella?

He's 6'5" with skinnier legs than Kate Moss. It's a minor miracle he can move at all.
