In my world a leader is someone who doesn't try to abandon ship halfway through a tough season and doesn't put his head down and stop trying when we're getting dicked by Arsenal. As a defender he's the best I've seen in a Toon shirt - and I was one of the few defending him in 2009 when the likes of TRon was saying he wouldn't do well for us in the Championship - and he played well today but he's no captain. Those citing us missing his leadership as a big reason why we're 17th should probably consider how much difference he would have made (had he stayed fit) if we hasn't signed the likes of Sissoko in January. We'd already be down by now.

There's a hundred things that need to be addressed. If you believe someone on here all you need to absolutely dick teams is have 11 technically sound players and a manager who tells them to keep the ball down.
