Norwich aren't dross. They finished 12th last season and have added 2 very good players I've liked for a long time in Snodgrass and Bassong in addition to Tettey who looks a lovely little DM.

Shola's no innocent victim, doing his best in the face of adversity, like. The guy's worked with half a dozen great strikers in his 12 years inolved with the first team, yet he still has no clue how to effectively use his body to keep the ball without giving away fouls. He's actually been going downhill since his early 20s and that's largely because he's never learnt from the stupid mistakes he seems to find so fucking funny. Useless cunt makes me sick. He's a symbol of where our club's gone since 2003: absolutely fucking nowhere.

I'd much rather the club took a f***ing roll of the dice and failed than let us sink like a stone. Changing it didn't work last time - and Kinnear was a far lesser manager (at that point) than Pardew, fwiw. I'd much rather we maintain stability because any 'manager' coming into this mess will take 10 games to figure out that Danny Simpson isn't England class and Shola hasn't 'got every attribute going'. We'll end up with some c*** like Neil Warnock who'll put the players in ice baths and drop Coloccini for a bigger lad and p*ss away point after point - not even winning the easy ones. Pardew needs to go in the summer but we're best off with him until then.
-
I think we all feel like that, tbh. Speaks volumes about him as a player that there's this much criticism/dislike for him while everyone acknowledges that he's a good bloke with a professional attitude.
-
I think that's another reason I've never warmed to him as much as most on here: IMO a 'pure ball winner' only has a permanent place in a team constantly up against it. I want us to be more than that.
-
on his best day(s) he was arguably the best DM in the country I think we all went a bit mad with Tiote because of the gulf in class between him and the last few defensive midfielders at the club.

p*ss off man. All the players you reckon aren't good enough are being priced at least twice their worth since they've been signed. Let's see some club activate the release clause to sign Pardew as a manager if he's as good as you seem to think he is. Aye, right. We've clearly had loads of offers for Tiote and Jonas. We buy bargains and rubbish that nobody else wants, with a handful of exceptions. Pardew is the managerial equivalent, for the record. Since this is the Tiote thread, then I'm pretty sure that Alex Ferguson said they'd have bought him for £15m but we were asking something daft, probably closer to £20m. I agree Pardew is worthless as a manager but let's not stoop to dishonesty to make a point. There is no comparison. Ferguson actually said that? He really is one step away from a care home if that's true. He's not a Man U player on his best day and I've been saying it for far longer than this season. The lad can barely pass a ball, man. Yes, Ferguson did actually say that. His team are sitting on top of the league btw, unlike your hero Pardew. When Man U or any club anywhere near a top 10 place appoint that t*** as a manager after this year then feel free to come back to me and tell me I was wrong. Sounds like you've had too much to drink, man. Pardew's my hero because I don't want him sacked and replaced with Christ knows who? Oh, and find me a quote or else go to bed and stop with your rubbish.
-
Completely accurate though. You've not seen much of him, then. I've seen plenty of him, thanks. Clearly not enough. Mole's post is pretty accurate so I won't bother going over old ground. Re: Higuain: Schooling us on players in leagues you arent watching then  Ouch.

For Ashley, spending next to nothing in this window and finishing 17th would represent the greatest victory. I'm not convinced he'll walk away from the gamble and put his hand in the coffers. I honestly think the detestable scumbag gets some sort of perverted thrill from being so reckless with an entity that some people have an emotional investment in.

Not effectively he doesn't. At least not yet.
-
We picked up just as many points (if not more) in the second half of the season without Taylor, though.
-
When was that? Our best form that I can remember happened with Colo/Perch and Williamson at the back during the 4-3-3 run. Don't get me wrong, like. Willo's crap and I never want him in the team ever again.
-
I don't watch Italian, German or French footie these days but I'd have Baines in my side before any other LB.
-
Not as much as we miss Ben Arfa. We have nobody else remotely like him.
-
Do we fuck. The midfield wasn't much worse with Cabaye and I'm not even going to start with Taylor.
-
no reason it shouldn't be cabaye and anita. Cabaye and Anita are too naturally static and diminutive for the role. Both are diminutive, but neither are static in any way, shape or form. I don't know which games you are watching. They may cover a lot of ground going backwards or sideways but they don't make the penetrating runs when we got the ball that you want from a box-to-box player. Square pegs in round holes. I'd much rather just play a genuine player for that role alongside Cabaye and Anita/Marveaux.
-
Or a midfielder that couldn't get into the first team in the Dutch league, had one very good season with us and has since hovered between being average and a liability? Not rocket science, like. I can find plenty of posts where I've said that Tiote isn't the right player for this team before this season, for the record. Same with Jonas.
-
To be fair we don't have many young players on the fringe of the first team squad; they're all getting games now.
-
Cabaye and Anita are far from ideal for such a formation, or I'd be in favour. Plus, Marveaux is too good through the middle to be put out there.
-
If we're actually trying to get him I'll be pleasantly surprised.
-
he's not going to be a massive change on the defensive side (apart from the oppo being more wary of him getting the ball) I think its this attitude that full backs have to be stoppers first and foremost is what has been our downfall for some time now. In any wide position its essential for a player to be skillful and creative. Whether he can then go and kick lumps off the opposition winger comes secondary to me. If we'd have set up from the off this season with 3 centre backs and Santon & Fergie as wing backs, our league position would be much healthier right now. Its a back 3 that provides good defensive cover at all times. A system we never seem to want to play! definitly, full backs are the new goalkeepers in that they are so important but don't get the recognition, financially and tactically. Been saying that for a while, ridiculous how teams ignore how important they are. It's no coincidence that the best teams have f*cking quality attacking fullbacks. The best teams have quality everything.
-
As useless as Ranger is I'd have started him every single time ahead of the cunt up front.
-
Agree. Except for the 2nd bit. If they can still sign people like Debuchy despite the league position and ridiculous tightfistedness they can get a better manager too. No self-respecting manager will come anywhere near this lot, man. That's why Harry turned us down and Keegan sacked off. Those that followed were at the bottom of the pile or not even managers at all.
