We have? There's just as much ammunition to argue that our success is in spite of our 'business model'.
-
They aren't. They are paying over the odds just to stay up. West Ham will achieve f*** all this season but they've bought enough goals to avoid relegation. As opposed to us, who sold our only PL standard striker in the January transfer window during our first season back? It's relentless, this nonsense. Thats not really a great example of a poor move on our behalf is it given the long term result. Which long term result? The £35m still hasn't been spent.

He's going to look silly regardless, tbh.
-
Not saying it's a wise move on their part. It's just sad that clubs like Fulham, West Ham and Reading are demonstrating more ambition than us.
-
Kick in the bollocks, like. It's a joke that we literally can't compete with most of the Premier League in the transfer market despite having one of the largest turnovers. West Ham, ffs.
-
Tbf Robert had loads of poor corners, absolutely loads but when it worked it really, really worked. Always tried to impart a lot of topspin on them. Christ, what I've give for that man right now.
-
Behind the striker will be his postion, like.
-
God. Needs more experience before a role like that. lol but srsly, what's up now? With me? Nowt. Just answering your question bruv.
-
God.

Seemed to be playing alongside Ba. Looks a little nervous at times with his touch and finishing but I still think he will end up more of a forward than a midfielder. Yep.
-
That's a car crash of a post. It's not even a car crash, it's a f***ing jumbo jet crashing into an orphanage of a post. That's funny.

Hard to say isn't it, could be that there are less options for us now we are looking for a higher standard of player. No point buying a RB unless he's a lot lot better than Simpson. [insert joke about how that's not hard here] Either you're on the payroll or you're not all there.

As much as the lad can look like a League 1 player at times, Pardew can and will get the best out of him. On his day he's unstoppable.
-
The irony of Carroll saving the transfer window for us all.
-
Nothing we didn't really know already. Ryan Taylor started how many PL games last season?
-
You forgot certain games in the 2nd half of that season, though. So you agree, one good season?
-
Course he does. The first half of 2010-11 is his only good spell of football since 2006.
-
I reckon it'll be far too good for a small club like ours to turn down.
-
FYP. But you're still wrong. What's he wrong about? Thought exactly the same here. What was the FYP all about? No, not the spelling, what's he wrong about?
-

We'd see an improvement, tbh.

He's not mediocre at all, like. He's slow, very weak, a poor tackler, has a poor goal return and is very poor under pressure. He's a decent passer and crosser of the ball. How that makes him a great talent, I don't know. Living off the back of a few assists thanks mainly to Andy Carroll.

So it's a positive that we're in a position that 'many other teams' are in after finishing 5th and spending far less than the newly promoted teams? Honestly, Ian, even for you. The difference in quality between 10 or 11 of our players and the rest is an abject disgrace, has hurt us time and time again in the past and yet again hasn't been addressed. All the talk about 'long term visions' mean nothing when such a short-sighted, window dressed approach is in effect.
