  1. That's terrible. Wonder where on earth ESPN got that nonsense from.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Oh yeah, and nonchalantly knocks it in near post. Great goal.
  3. I just hope he's ahead of Obertan in the pecking order. No reason he shouldn't be.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Peter Beardsley was twice the player Ben Arfa is and I love our Frenchman. Beardsley had it all. In many ways Ben Arfa, given his talent, should be up there as one of the best players in the world but he isn't and that is down to inconsistency and from what Pardew alluded to, perhaps a rather lacklustre approach to training. That and his attitude of course. He is 26 now and should be for France for example what Zidane was, their main man. That's the kind of talent he has. Back to Beardsley, he would be worth 30m or so today. Easily. Beardsley was an extremely hard working player in the mould of say Tevez or Rooney but he was immaculately discplined. He had amazing vision and his dribblibg, sorry but as good as Ben Arfa is, Beardsley was twinkle toes. He was genuinley two footed as well and could score all manner of goals from all over the park. He was an unselfish player too and a real team-player. People say Gazza is the best we have ever produced but do you know what, in terms of general all-round ability and being able to put it to full use, I don't think this region has produced anyone as food as Beardsley. If we had him today, he would make the difference between Europa and CL footy. Great post, couldn't agree more. Speaking of Pedro being two footed; that last minute goal down at Palace in 94-95, man. Past two players and top corner with the left foot from 20+ yards. I'll consider myself pretty lucky if I ever witness an NUFC player with that level of ability again.
  5. Oh come on! He's a good player, but Tiote's shooting is f***ing terrible. If you gave ME a chance to have 20 shots at goal from 25 yards, at least one or 2 of them would threaten the goalkeeper by luck alone. Anyone half-competent could do the same. His shooting is Sunday League at best. Let's not allow one shot Vs Arsenal and a couple of ones that went close cloud judgement on a player who has played 53 times for us, shoots at least once or twice per match and has threatened the opposition goal about 3 times. Good player: Yes Goal threat: f*** no Great player though. Agree 100% He can't shoot for s*** and the constant screaming for him to do it every time he gets the ball is infuriating. Yep.
  6. To be fair, Billy fucking Paynter ripped Williamson to pieces.
  7. We weren't just neck and neck, it was practically the last kick of the season and if he scored that penalty we'd have went into the Champions League denying Liverpool not only their place the following season, but from going on to actually win the thing. Such fine margins in football at times. Edit: wait, no, I'm wrong; it was only the final home game. Point still stands though. It doesn't, at all. Even if we'd beaten Wolves we'd have had to go to Anfield and win on the last day.
  8. Ah yes, that 1-1 at home with Villa. Terrible game.
  9. Le Tiss is the best penalty taker the PL has ever seen, but I couldn't ever have such a descipable man in our shirt, even for a few seconds. Rather Hitler stepped up. Go on then , I'll bite. Aside from his s**** punditry, how is Le Tiss such a c*** ? He's a horrible bastard.
  10. Deeply average? Only posters like you thought they were average, like. The rest of us knew they were basically crap.

  12. Shola's a better penalty taker than Shearer. Controversial, but there you go. I'd be shouting for Dennis Irwin.
  13. You've forgotten last season's, Wayne Hennessey. The ultimate.
  14. Of course you can. Cover the near post and the striker can only go one way. His near post was covered it was just a great finish. If he's standing on his f***ing post with Tevez at that angle it doesn't need to be a good finish, it just needs to be rolled into the gaping hole across the other side of the net It wasn't covered. He left a gap and Tevez has a history of going that way instead of going for the corner. Bad keeping. Disagree with this, though. Davis is a much better keeper than when he was cocking up for Sunderland every week.

  16. Simpson gets stick for goals against that others don't. If the ball had come in from the left and Simpson was where Santon was it would still be Simpson at fault. Yeah, but it didn't.
  17. That's one of the worst on-target penalties I've ever seen.
  18. Avatar, man. Brilliant.
  19. Isn't the point of football to score goals? No. It's to score them and work as a team to prevent them. Defoe is a player that is carried for his goal scoring ability. Aside from that he offers zero. That's not true, like. I'm not a massive fan of him but he's more than a scorer of goals.
