  1. Torres, Drogba, Sturridge, Falcao, and Anelka...how can they accomodate all of them? Probably sell Anelka and listen to offers for Sturridge is my guess. If Villas Boas uses the same styles as with Porto, he will go with 4-3-3. But the twist was that the wingers were more like inside forwards, giving them more attacking power. Falcao played as centre forward with Hulk and Varela as wingers / inside forwards. Torres and Drogba are the type of players that would fit the centre forward spot, so no real need for them to sign Falcao. Sturridge is not a winger, but could employ that role more easily in Villas Boas' formation. I could actually see him fitting very well into his plans (same type of role as Hulk). Also Kalou and Malouda would fit very well in his system. Don't know about Anelka though, don't see him fitting too well into it. So I would see them going for Hulk rather than Falcao.
  2. Villas Boas returns to Chelsea - will be very interesting to see how he makes there. Could be the best signing of the summer. He knows the club and many of the players, he knows what is expected and knows what it takes to succeed in Premier League. I'm actually convinced that it is the best possible manager for Chelsea at this point. He brings something new and fresh, but yet has a very strong link in Chelsea's success in the past.
  3. Left winger? So no N'Zogbia then? Interesting signing, definitely..
  4. Is there any store in or around SJP at the moment (is there one in Monument Mall)? Coming to visit on Saturday and would like to do some shopping...
  5. Really? That's great. Usually Electron doesn't work anywhere. Cheers for help!
  6. doubt it'll be a sell out but most probably the more expensive tickets will be left. edit, you must have a debit/visa etc card which you can use ? theres not much risk in the club having your details. I only have Finnish Visa Electron, I doubt it will do. If I purchase tickets online, I have to have the credit card with me when I collect the tickets and I doubt that any of my friends will borrow me their credit card, because it would mean that I would go with their credit card to my trip...
  7. I'm considering coming to the game (from Finland), do you think there will be tickets available on match day (from gate)? Wouldn't want to purchase them before, because I don't have credit card, but wouldn't want to risk not getting any tickets...

Well, football supporters from all over the world can laugh at Newcastle yet again. Mission accomplished, Mr Ashley, you've done it again.

Really good player, who actually wants to join us! If this doesn't happen, it just shows that this club is going absolutely nowhere with no ambition.

Never dull in Newcastle, if Gazza isn't saving the world, then one Frenchman is so desperate to sign for the club that he will do it on his own. This club is way more interesting than Harchester United ever was, no let-down this summer either.
  11. I was just talking about this the other day... not if Jonas leaves mind! Can Tshabalala play centrally as well? Might be some legs for the middle of the park. Wouldn't buy him even for free tbh. Didn't looked like he could controll a game or read a game. Has some pace, but that doesn't help much. He's african, too. Which means he will be away for the ACN every two (?) years. South Africa didn't even qualify for this years African Nations Cup.. For cheap, he would definately be good signing. Would give cover and much needed pace from bench.
  12. I really do miss him as manager of Finnish national team. Legend.
  13. If you include trials, Sami Hyypiä must be on the list. Has been absolutely fantastic with Leverkusen in Germany this season. Was on trial with Newcastle, but Newcastle didn't want to pay anything to get him and Liverpool signed him (turned out the biggest bargain of their history).
  14. Jonjo Shelvey for me, but he should really get to bigger stage.
  15. I haven't read this in about 30 pages, so is there really any progress or are just being "funny"?
  16. Iraq is current Asian champions. Well, you probably still got the point
  17. Iraq is current Asian champions.
  18. RIP sir Bobby. True legend, you will be remembered!
  19. Nope. To Mike: Roberto Mancini?
  20. I'm one of the greatest players on 90's and key member of a club that dominated Europe in mid-90's. After this succes I had unsuccesful spells with two big clubs and after few stops I have now returned to my roots. I have over 100 caps for my nation and I have played in six different leagues. There are two clubs that I have returned (played for them twice) and the other one is my current club. Who am I?
  21. Don't forget Mourinho, Deco, Paulo Ferreira, Maniche, Costinha, Seitaridis, Postiga, Anderson.. All with huge profits. They won the Champions League and got huge profits from that too. Still don't see them spending money much.
  22. what can you tell us about the other two? i'm sure there's plenty of foreign players who could come in and do a job in the championship, so hopefully the likes of vetere have been looking for them. Raitala had a trial with Newcastle on January, but Newcastle (and other teams) wanted to wait until summer to get him cheaper (his contract was expiring in December, but he has signed new contract now). He can play on any position in defence, but he prefers playing as left-back. Turning 21 years in September, he has been in HJK's first team since 2007 and is very promising talent. He is very quick and solid defensively, but not the greatest going up. He will be playing in U21 European Championship next month and will be monitored by many teams (latest to show interest is PSV Eindhoven, also many clubs from Germany have been after him). He wants to make a smart move (somewhere where he can play week in, week out, so Newcastle has a chance). Matumona is not the youngest player anymore (born 1981), and hasn't really shined the way he should've been. He had a succesful trial with Birmingham last summer, but for some reason it never happened. He still can produce something magical and I believe that in right circumstances he has a chance to be a star. Very skillful player with good vision, plays as right-winger for Congo (don't know about Brussels). Small and quick. I really liked him with Congo and I would be ready to give him a chance. Shelvey will be a star, he is easily one of the best midfielders in Championship, too bad he has played for such a poor side (Charlton). He could make it in Premiership easily, but hopefully we could have a chance to sign him. Will definately leave Charlton in summer, but question is who gets him?
