  1. 5th or above not to start a slide. Ashley will have this target in mind no doubt.
  2. Would rather a 5th & 16th than a 10th and 11th like.
  3. NUFC average finishes over sequential 3 year periods... The Fall of Shepherd 02/03/04 - 4th 03/04/05 - 7th 04/05/06 - 9th 05/06/07 - 11th The Rise of Ashley 08/09/10 - 17th 09/10/11 - 17th 10/11/12 - 13th 11/12/13 - 11th 12/13/14 - 10th
  4. http://i59.tinypic.com/f3eyxj.jpg Now Riviere is official, we've spent all the Carroll money...42 months later.
  5. Fine line between rattled and bored. Whenever the argument is around data sample sizes and selection criteria, you can guarantee it's the latter though.
  6. You go ahead. I couldn't give a shit. I've said what I found interesting and why.
  7. Gross is an utter waste of time. In terms of how much talent is being invested into the squad being put onto the pitch I'd say it's the most valuable statistic. Spurs are £30m up on transfers in the last 4 years, NUFC are £30m down? What does thast tell you anbouyt squad quality? NUFC with a £60m bigger hole in their finances on transfers? Nothing really, it might lead you to assume Newcastle have spent more and so have the better squad. But knowing Spours have spent £160m gross on their squad and NUFC have spent less than half that tells you far more about the expected qualities of the respective squads. Why choose 4 years, HF? Because we were in the championship 5 years ago and Spurs weren't.
  8. Because .com hasn't got a price for Debuchy on the front page which is what I've used to update. Righto. I wouldn't have used anything not confirmed but doesn't really matter I guess. As they're at the training ground holding up shirts and that I thought it was a pretty safe bet...and as I was interested in gross spending rather than net I had no call to add Debuchy to my data. When asked for the net figure by someone I just took it from the data I had.

  11. I think a gross spend for 14/15 compared to previous seasons is valid as we can't unspend that money we've invested as a minimum so far. The net spend will be more interesting to compare oncethe window closes if we dump Debuchy, Krul, Ben Arfa, Marveaux etc. and after Jan if there are more comings anbd goings As it stands though... http://i60.tinypic.com/28ip1f8.jpg £35m net spend in the last 4 years.
  12. Assuming Janmaat and Riviere sign at the quoted prices, it returns NUFC to a trend of spending higher amounts on transfers year on year since promotion, following the blip in 13/14.
  13. Not sure the commercial figures add up though HF. deleted it now, not redoing it to balance my rounding error.
  14. Counting up I make it about 300 of 1000 seats sold there. Which would be 16000 if extrapolated out to 52k capacity.
  15. Sorry if I'm repeating anyone, but this is the current avalibility in the back section of the Gallowgate on the website. 6%

  18. That's the second time I've done that Apologies.
  19. You looking at last years fixtures or something?
  20. Damn, why has that got England and cup fixtures in it..? Also, aren't these dates heavily subject to change due to televised fixtures not being determined yet? That's the problem with all the calender's you get online. They tend not to change after the initial fixture list is announced. Annoyed me so I'm maintaining this shared one myself now and intend to update as when fixtures are chaged. I'm including England games because it annoyed me that the calendar I had subscribed to didn't include them, so when there was a weekend without football, i had to go and see when the internationals were. Could be any day from Wednesday to Monday.
  21. 06/12 - Chelsea 13/12 - Arsenal 20/12 - Mackems 26/12 - Man U 28/12 - Everton 01/01 - Burnley 03/12 - FA Cup 10/01 - Chelsea If we don't have a really good start to the season, I'm pinning my hopes on this run of games bookended with Chelsea home and away being enough to get rid of Pardew. If we win more than one of them I'll blah blah blah Fenwicks blah.
