I don't know. I don't see why. But if he doesn't take off some of the debt, then we'll soon be paying tax on massive profits, so some sort of change in plan will be needed to avoid giving money away. Repayment of Ashley's debt wouldn't have any effect on the company's profit, or its tax bill. This is where it gets too complicated for me. Thought taking £19m from the sale of Cabaye and paying down £18m debt would leave £1m profit. Either way, think we could take the title for best Premier League profits before tax this year...

I don't know if it's because I've kept a close eye on it for years but it still amazes me people don't know the basic 3 or 4 numbers that have represented the clubs debt for the past 4 or 5 years now. The loan he made the club on purchase is repayable. Not within any stated timeframe.

How #nufc have had the worst injury record in the league ever since Pardew arrived. http://nufc-ashlies.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/fitter-happier.html

Can people pick holes in this?

Always thought Other was on another level whenever we came up against him.

Wouldn't necessarily say useless tbf, certainly not as good as last season, but at least they stick to try and win games and don't sit back. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/14/2e279d10c2555bec9cd549f16073c653.jpg Martinez could probably do with being a bit more cautious and seeing games out.

Cheers, corrected

Just in 2014 Pardew has already lost as many games by 3 goals as he has won by 3 in his entire 4 years in charge (9) https://twitter.com/MikeAshleyLies/status/543874605929492480

The turnaround.

Burnley tickets on sale to members, with an unmentioned price hike added on for you. Half Season tickets sales must have gone well.

Once again Pardew gets some new players and lifts results. He's done this to a lesser extent year on year every season. Looking at December, I think it's safe to say the last 10 games before the next window will fit right into that lower section too.

Not as easy to get us into Europe though. Wonga pay £30m for the 4 year deal. Tenants paid Celtic £1.5m a year. If NUFC invested heavily enough to challenge the European places it would put a huge dint in the finances too. If we then didn't make it into Europe it's a much more expensive gamble to have lost than it would be to throw £10m at players for Rangers and have them qualify, even if they had to pay off the current Sponsor.

Man U chose not to play in the FA Cup. Think he can withdraw any of his clubs from any competition he likes.

Newcastle in Europe offers literally nothing to Mike Ashley. His sports Direct ads get covered up and his team risk injury/fatigue. If he gets Sports Direct on the Rangers shirts he'll be delighted for them to get into Europe. There's nothing else appealing to him about buying into Scottish football over and above already owning Newecastle. It's one of the least watched leagues, their stores are reporting losses (which he's contracted Rangers to pay Sports Direct to cover), he's alienating half of the people that would otherwise shop in his store north of the border and the returns in terms selling shares are non-existant, even if they win titles again, it'll be a minuscule return comparatively. The only attraction for him is to get Sports Direct coverage in European games that aren't going to jeopardise the clubs league challenge or prove too expensive a cost if they did. With or without Rangers, if NUFC got into Europe I wouldn't have been surprised if we forfeited the position.

How would Redknapp at Spurs work? Or is he a bad example given that Spurs have arguably got worse since he left? 8th, 4th and 5th place finishes. Don't think it matters what a team does once a manager goes, but don't think he was there long enough to be used as an example. If he was though, it would just be another example of someone who peaked in year 2 of his reign and offers no credence to the notion that sticking by a manager offers anything other than continued performance at the level they set early on at best, diminishing returns otherwise.
-
Would be a daft thing to caution against as we approach half a decade under one manager then. 08/09 levels of flux are clearly bad for a club, but that's got no baring whatsoever on our current state.

Aye... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/9588529/premier-league-newcastle-goalkeeper-tim-krul-facing-six-week-lay-off-with-ankle-injury

Are there any other examples to compare? Looking at stability and the lack of evidence for the benefit. The notion that after 10 years of mid-table stability a manager will then shoot up the league is bogus. Any long serving manager tends to peak within 5 years and maintain that level or be sacked when they drop off.
-
Just a look at the changing performance over his half seasons. So back half of 10/11 then each subsequent half season. The trendlines are quite clear for goals scored and games lost. Not sure at what point stability is supposed to reverse the tend. But aye, theyre on @mikeashleylies timeline too.
