Newcastle United 0 - 1 Arsenal - 29/12/13 - post-match reaction from page 33

Despair at some posters on here. Don't come across anyone like it in the real world. -
Everton have more points than us, are they bigger and better off then we are? Last season Everton and West Brom had the same points as we've got, the same question applies. Well no, but I'm sure they're delighted with what they've achieved so far too?
-
Because we're not a small skint club. From what's mids says, it's the first time we've done it in ten years. We've clearly got limited finances for whatever reason and the 'big club' debate will go on forever. People getting their knickers in a twist for no reason.htt especially. We're only on 33 points though mate. Ok well that's fair enough 33 is still very decent though.

Are you being critical just for the sake of it? We played well today and deserve credit for doing so. We didn't play well at all. A narrow 1-0 defeat to a set-piece goal at home to the team of the season may well read good, but in reality we were poor. We offered little goal threat, played too many long balls and were one paced playing at a low tempo. We contained them well enough but at the expense of getting at them. we did play well, after they blew themselves out we matched them, probably even created the better chances. your bias is getting terrible. I'm voting for you for best non nufc fan in the awards. Did we f*** play well. Playing well was us vs Palace, or us vs Chelsea. This was us playing containment football, the typical Pardew approach. Our best chance came from the face of Remy who chased down a back-pass that their 'keeper made a right balls of clearing. We didn't test their 'keeper once. The last 20 minutes were an eye-sore, players all over the place forcing play or aiming it long to that lump Shola. Apart from the time we hit the bar, the keeper tipped one over and hba hit the side netting? -
His comments were "for a club of our size and financial ability to have 36 points before January" and that's bullshit. How?
-
No fucking way was he in the cluny man
-
I'd be surprised if it was more than a couple of times. Me too. Which is why I'm surprised at the reaction to his comments.
-
Then why ask? I don't know the answer, but I know it's not fucking 7
-
7 Well that's a lie.

Out of curiosity, how many times we had 36 points before Christmas in the last ten years?

I don't think so. A lot a games and pardew spoke recently of trusting the squad. Can see hba coming in at least. -
Aye when things like 'Pardew makes it so f***ing easy for opposition managers' comes along. p*ss take. Results have suggested otherwise and the league table is looking lovely yet people are still trying shoot him down. Pathetic. No one is criticising the results or league table though. People don't like the way that he has us playing football. It's as simple as that. So how does not liking his style of football turn into make life so easy for opposing managers? If he gets results with a style of football you're not fond of, it doesn't mean to say other managers find it so easy against him. Jose got a rotten game of football at the Emirates but he got the point he went for, are there fans arsed, probably not because they got a canny point. You can moan about the style of football your sides playing but if it gets positive results, that’s the main thing. There's a slight difference between doing it away to Arsenal and doing it at home to Stoke. No, I don't want us to win ugly and yes, I do care how we win to an extent. I don't believe that the way that we're winning is going to lead to any success in the long term. He done it at home to Swansea yesterday fwiw. If we keep going like this and picking up points, i'll not be one to complain. We've played some really good football this season and we are looking strong. Hopeful we can keep pushing on.

We generally play better football now than we did when we finished 5th. As for the wheels coming off, unless we get injuries I don't see why we won't finish the season well. Very solid and organised, and scoring goals too.

Mackematics marra. :D :D That's very good. Yeah, it was thoroughly original. Two years ago. He's only been here two months give him a break

That pass against Arsenal for Ba's goal
-
Aye. Fair play. Thought we started poorly today and tried to match them with the long ball stuff, but we did well to step it up and keep the ball down when it became obvious they were absolute rubbish. Aye took ten minutes to get to grips with the game, after that we were in total control. Could have easily been five
-
Never expected that, fair play to the whole squad and staff. Hope we can keep this up. We got the players to do it. Would love to think we could get a decent forward in January to keep it going.

30 points before Christmas. Great job
