All human beings are worth the same respect. However supermarket workers are treat badly because their bosses, rightfully or wrongly, deem they can easily be replaced by someone equally as competent with very little effort and almost zero additional cost. Whether you like it or not, the same is unlikely to be true of Sandro Tonali. You can debate the moral rights and wrongs of that disparity all you like, and I'll likely agree with you on much of it. But it's still true.

I'm sure we could try to cancel his contract now, the problem would be that we then just let a £55m player walk off into the sunset for nothing and AC Milan have all our money. Getting the contract cancelled isn't massively problematic. Getting your money back from the other party is the tricky bit. (Not that I'm suggesting we should, I stand by Tonali and hope he comes good, which I'm highly confident he will)

Pav. Yes I'm biased, but watching him field a backpass and look like he has miscontrolled it, then when the attacker closed in he'd just junk inside and leave him on his arse. Did it every match and attackers always fell for it. Never even got close to getting caught out, and it was always followed by a long chant of "Pavel is a Geordie!" from the stands.

This for me. Pissed off, but it'll pass in an hour or so. Ultimately I'm proud of what we've done and the future is very bright.

Pardew may not have been the worst manager ever, but he was the worst human. Just a terrible person with no redeeming features. Although I hated Bruce more for his managerial tenure, I'd have to accept that at least the press all seemed to think he was decent company on a personal level and that there must be something in that. Obviously as soon as he started talking as our manager it was pure diarrhoea and I wanted to punch him, but I could accept he was probably good company in isolation over a beer. Pardew, even in those circumstances, I'd just want to feed into a wood chipper. Just an unpleasant, slimy little egotist, dunno how anyone can say anything positive about him.

Not at all. I'm a massive fan of Howe's, but I don't think he rotates enough. I thought this when we were winning too, for example his refusal to rest or change a tired Dan Burn often felt like it might cost us. I can criticise without it being an over reaction to a defeat. He's fabulous, but we don't have to pretend he's perfect. None of us are.

Howe is poor at rotating his squad, I think it's his weak point. But his refusal to use Hall at all seems odd in the current injury crisis. Time will tell I guess.
