Be an honour to see him rip it up for Brighton after we flog him next June to sort out our FFP issues again.
  2. Depends really. If you're talking about us making their model fail by buying their players cheaply, then you're agreeing with me. I said we shouldn't buy them at a profit (when wages / signing on fees they've paid are also taken into account) though I'd make exceptions for genuine youth players who've come through the ranks of course, that's "normal". I'm talking specifically about their player hoarding model of buying anyone and everyone just to flip for profit. But if they pay £20m plus a £3m signing on fee and £2m wages for someone and we come in and pay £40m for them, they're ahead and their model will be profitable. I don't want that, and we can't support or facilitate that kind of player hoarding for profit. If you're OK with it then fine, but I'm certainly not. It's awful. On the flip side, if they buy someone for a total outlay of £50m and we can take them for £25m I'm all for it. You're saying "they look completely lost" and in some ways they're floundering round, but they finished above us. They qualified for Europe. They're one good managerial appointment away from turning this right round and being a top 4 team. The margins are very fine. Saying "Let's keep enabling them" when they're banking lots of money and can easily suddenly get it right is very dangerous. Personally I'd rather see them financially ruined.
  3. I don't care how good Disasi is or isn't, I'm vehemently against us supporting Chelsea's business model. Unless we can buy one of their players for less than they paid, we should look elsewhere. What they're doing needs to be made to fail.

How would that change in any other scenario? Also valuing player A at £65m doesn't mean you're willing to spend £65m on player B.

Not really. We can start moves for other players whilst still leaving this offer on the table.
  6. Thanks but a statue seems overkill, I'm just shitposting when bored.
  7. Anyone saying they 'detest' a player who absolutely grafts his bollocks off and plays with a massive smile on his face all the time needs to frankly GTF. He has limitations, and I'm as annoyed as anyone by his utter refusal to use his right foot, but we need a little perspective here.

Completely ambivalent about this. I love a new signing as much as anyone but it's crazy money and I'd be equally happy for us to walk away and move on to other targets. There must be brilliant defenders out there on the continent or even further afield who could be bought for half that money.
  9. Anyone complaining about the Minteh sale needs to suggest what should've been done instead to plug the massive hole in our finances. Realistically done too, ie no bollocks about "sell Almiron" when no fucker wants him and he won't go to Saudi. It was Minteh, or a purple. If you think selling Minteh was wrong, we need to know which of Gordon, Isak or Bruno you'd have sold instead. We were in a corner.
  10. Pawson has been useless, letting them chop our players down then booking Hall for touching the shoulder of one of theirs. From then on I knew we were in for a tough day. What a cunt.
  11. Obviously I always hope we smash teams 5-0, but especially with this lineup because I want to see lots of it moving forwards.
  12. We should stay away from Chelsea players. Everyone should. You can't allow their model to succeed, which it will if people keep buying their castoffs for more than they paid for them.
  13. Also Kelly talking about England's chronic left back shortage... I was always utterly baffled that Southgate played Trippier there when there's Burn, Hall, Targett and even Livramento who are all English and I'd rather see at left back for Newcastle than Trippier, who is completely ineffective there. Not saying any of them should have gone to the Euros, but if Newcastle alone have 4 better options, there's not a shortage, there's just a rubbish manager. Trippier wasn't the best option we had, he's just the one who was picked. Love Trippier, but he's a right back and offers nothing at all on the left. Livramento is a right back as well of course but he looks better than Trippier on the left because he has more pace and drive to get past people.
  14. Lads, he's not playing centre back. I love Howe but he hates short left backs, and Hall is going back on the bench.
  15. A celebration of their mining heritage. Keep up.

    Alan Shearer

It's most goals AND assists, which is a weird stat to quote but might help Lampard a bit. Still scored loads though.
  17. Most people are DESPERATE for him to leave us (Either for England or to be sacked) and for us to get someone lime Mourinho in and then implode with a series of shit and increasingly desperate managerial appointments. That includes most journalists who just by numbers are likely to support other teams, often teams we're looking to overhaul in the league. Always remember that everyone has an agenda.

I'm sure that soon he'll be a great player for Brighton.
  19. What's that in relation to?
  20. It's hard for players playing as forwards to dribble past a few players or play defence-splitting through balls, because they're so far forward anyway. Quite simply there's nobody to play forward to, and if they dribble past a couple of players they're probably clean through on goal and will shoot. Isak had one crazy assist against Everton (I refuse to acknowledge the official line of it not being an assist) but to do that he started on the half way line. Aside from that, I can't recall anything that fits your criteria from him either.
  21. That's literally being a creative player.
  22. Absolutely disgusting that we're in 2024 and people with brown/black skin are needing to ask openly if it's safe to attend a football match. Fucking state of things, absolutely gutting that this is where we are.
  23. Amdy Faye Geremi Alan Smith All of them just awful in every game they played. And they played 198 times.
