That's about the worst idea imaginable. People think he downed tools last year? With the above deal, it'll get to the final day of the season with us clinging to the last CL spot, 93 minutes on the clock and he'll dribble through his own defense and smash it into the net so he can knock £20m off his value. Just, no.
-
He's been this squad's Beardsley, a consummate pro (on the pitch!), England international nearing 30 when he arrived, someone who raises everyone around him by his attitude and ability who really buys into what we're doing. 34 isn't old these days, he could play at the top level for another year or two easily.
-
I'd only buy a Chelsea player for a loss for them. Can't be supporting that toxic, horrid business model, needs to be made to fall.
-
Beardsley then, second time.
-
Oh absolutely. I know we need these halfwits, but yeah I'll never take their opinions seriously. My utter disdain is not based on them supporting other teams.
-
It's the out of country glory hunters for me. Those who've just latched onto a team that was doing well, and have zero skin in the game. Like going to the casino and cheering for the dealer. Can't take them or their opinions seriously at all.

If we swap Isak for DCL, just put a fucking bag over my head and end it for me.
-
And ours are worth 20* that again but we're not allowed to fucking spend it.
-
Happy if he comes, Guehi strikes me as too short plus there's the whole LGBTQ+ armband thing that didn't sit well with me.
-
Down to our last 5.
-
Fair but £60, £80m is top table fees. If we're shopping at the next step down, the prices should reflect that.
-
Sign a player for £32m, decide he's not good enough, sell him for £80m. Some fucking business model that is. I repeat, we should not be supporting that. If a £32m signing hasn't worked out, he's worth less than that.
-
Hate the idea of supporting Chelsea's abhorrent business model. Fuck them and everything they're doing. Let them fucking rot with their squad of 50 players in big contracts, don't validate and enable them. Genuinely sickening that we're considering this. Nobody should touch a Chelsea reject unless it's to buy them at a loss.

You missed out "So that Liverpool can buy our star player"
-
And it's now starting to feel silly to be moving onto plan H when we've already got Plan A sat sulking in the changing room.
-
Our problem is that we can pay top fees but we can't pay top wages.
-
If his value doesn't drop with just 12 months left on his deal then I assume we're keeping Isak for anotherr 2 years.
-
Maybe we are. But we generally seem to have a very small shopping list, and it's not how we seem to operate.
-
I mean I agree with that, but we could also possibly explore alternatives at the same time? Mad idea, I know.
-
Fair enough, play on then. Had completely missed that.
-
Lots of people keep suggesting Paqueta - Isn't he still facing basically a lifetime ban? Or has that gone away now? If he's still got charges against him, we need to stay the hell away. Be just our luck to give West Ham £ms for a player who then promptly gets barred from kicking a ball until the heat death of the universe.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Genuinely starting to wonder if some of his fee is linked to him actually playing.
