    Fave KK memory?

Well here's a little hint: If you see a thread with Kevin Keegan's name on it, don't open it. Hey presto, problem solved. Leave the rest of us to have some fun while we can, after all it won't be long before we're doing sh#te and everyone's calling for him to be fired!

    Fave KK memory?

Funny how people remember things like that. I always used to laugh when my mother said everyone could remember where they were when they heard JFK had been shot but I can tell you exactly where I was when Andy Cole was sold. And like you, I was in A Level maths actually! I didn't f### off home though, but I got no work done that day. Just moped around thinking "WHY?" and feeling sorry for myself.

    Fave KK memory?

I can't pick one as there's so many, so I'll just type away for a while: The Leicester 7-1 game, like others have said was pretty special. Fab atmosphere, great result, goals galore. David Kelly was my hero back then, and this was his last game for us. He got a hat-trick, while the man who ultimately replaced him, Andy Cole, got 3 as well. Cole's 40th to break the record for most goals in a season against Villa. Never has a goal been celebrated as enthusiastically as that one until Shearer scored past Portsmouth for number 200. The Villa game was made even more remarkable as I'd bet my mate that Bracewell (Who basically never scored) would score Newcastle's first goal. And he did. The first Liverpool 4-3, even though I only watched it in the student union bar, was very memorable. And of course humping Man U 5-0 will live with me until my dying day. Rob Lee's 'goal' from 70 yards against Brentford - With his left foot - That was disallowed to give US a free kick. Cole's hat-trick against Liverpool. Signing Shearer. Ginola, in one of his first games for us (Possibly his debut, and possibly against Middlesborough? - My memory may be failing me all these years later!), being stuck on his own goal-line with a boro player in front of him. "Just hoof it out!", thought everyone. But no, he just dropped his shoulder, shimmied his feet and left the smoggy on the ground as he strolled off up the pitch with the ball. I knew then I was seeing someone special. Going away to QPR. They beat us 3-0 with all the goals coming in the opening 20-30 mins. The atmosphere was already fantastic but every time they scored, we got louder. When the 3rd went in the whole Newcastle end was jumping up and down like lunatics, it was just so surreal. After the match I was walking round the ground and I heard 2 QPR fans talking about our support, one said to the other "F#cking hell, if that's what they're like when they get beat I'd hate to hear how much noise they'd make if they won". Made me feel so proud. Right, bored now. Could type all night but there's some stuff that springs immediately to mind.
  4. Popped round my parent's house for lunch. My father and I just sat in silence watcing the conference, not one word spoken by either of us. Absolutely delighted with everything Keegan said. I'm really optimistic for the future now, I can see that the game on Saturday will be a fantastic event and no matter what the score, I'm sure I'll come home having lost my voice through singing and urging the team on. And that's not something I can say has happened too many times since Keegan was last here.

    Milner

Like others have suggested, I'd fancy giving Charlie a run as an AMC. Duff out left and Milner on the right. Personally I like Milner. He lacks killer pace but he's not "Mick Quinn" slow, he's just not as fast as some. And although he lacks that bit of pace, he can beat a man with technique. He's genuinely 2 footed, and a confident finisher. He reminds me a lot of Chris Waddle with his style of play. Even plays with his shirt untucked.
  6. Eh? Ashley HAS been at the matches you know. What has Smith done to make fat Mick be "in awe" of him?

    Kevin Keegan

This could be absolutely fantastic or totally awful. At least we'll play good football, he should get some money thrown at him from Ashley and there's no real reason why he can't do well. He's never really failed at any of the appointments he's had. The concerns are that he's had time out of the game and never really thought about investing in the future (Reserves scrapped etc). Plus they do say "Never go back". But just join me for a moment and think "What if he DOES win something? Just what if?". Imagine the party.
  8. Seconded. I know it's an adult forum and we're all aware of all the words, but it's much appreciated when people at least try to disguise the swear words. A lot of us view this forum at work - During break times, of course! - and certainly my company PC (and probably many other people's) stops me going onto certain sites if it detects too many instances of the undisguised versions of an*l, c*nt, a*se and c*ck and f*ck. The site just gets blocked under the assumption that I'm sat here looking at p*rn and knocking one out in company time. Now that won't get me into any trouble (I'm allowed to use the internet during work time), but it may ultimately stop me and others posting on here until night time and make the forum less active than it currently is. Help us out here lads.
  9. I've sure I've got DVDs volume 2 & 3 of that.
  10. Awesome player. Absolute c#nt of a human being.

    Jose Mourinho

is that 6 for 6-0? Or if you read into it more...... 1-5? The Birmingham fiasco? Well I think he might struggle to put 6 fingers from one hand up. I dunno, most of the Middlesbrough youth team can manage it.
  12. Good news indeed. Hitzfeld doesn't exactly meet the requirements for all-out attack though, his sides are quite pragmatic in their approach. Van Gaal could well be an option though. Normally plays some decent stuff.
  13. What more could anyone possibly want him to say? Makes me excited about the future, even though I'm pretty heartbroken about the present.
  14. SBR so right as always. Every time he opens his mouth, whatever comes out is worth listening to.
  15. Given: 3 Carr: 2 Taylor: 4 Cacapa: 2 Enrique: 5 (Best defender we had today, but still not great) Milner: 4 Smith: 1 (For turning up) Butt: 2 N'Zogbia: 6 (Threatened when he went forward. No support though) Duff: 4 Owen: 3 (Though completely starved of service) Subs: Viduka: 3 Rozehnal: 2 And I'm probably being kind with all of them.
  16. That's remarkably FM-like. Nah, if it was FM we'd have won 1-0.
  17. Yeah, you're right. We deserved at least a point....
  18. No. We. Didn't. Rooney could have had 4 in the opening 15 mins, never mind the rest of their team. We offered nothing going forward, and the player who touched the ball most in the first half was Shay Given as he spotted up goal kick after goal kick following wayward Man U shooting. If that's us looking OK, I'd hate to see us looking bad.
  19. That's scary. Very scary. I've never been convinced that we're out of the relegation scrap, stats like that just prove it. I'm really interested to see what happens over the next couple of weeks and to see who comes in through the doors at Newcastle, both managerially and with regards to the playing staff.
  20. We were an utter shambles second half, and Man Utd were fantastic. I think Ferguson will have told them at half-time that we're offering nothing going forward so they can throw bodies at us and take chances. The outcome speaks for itself. We need to be more of an attacking threat. Butt and Smith in midfield simply doesn't work, never has worked and never will work. We need a quality attacking midfielder brought in this month (Emre is attacking, but lacks the quality) to play alongside someone more defensive. Only then will we be able to threaten teams, at the moment we're so predictable that they can afford to attack us and throw bodies forward and they know that we've got nothing in reply other than a long ball forward to all 5'8" of Michael Owen.

That. Word for word. It's also a desperate message to whoever they approach next that they AREN'T second choice, that indeed they planned to speak to them all along - they were just speaking to Harry first. All bollox really, but after handling it the way they have then what choice did they have? Should have handled it better in the first place, of course. I think this'll be quite a learning experience for Mort and Ashley. there is no time for a learning period we are in a mess and with their targets we will not get out of it Whether you think there's time for a learning period or not, they're in one so you'd better get used to it. This is a new business for both of them and it will take time for them to adapt. Personally, I'm quite prepared to cut them some slack, especially given all that they've done for the club since they took over. Everything they've done up until sacking Sam has been handled excellently and they've saved the club from god-knows-what that would have happened with the debt mountain that Fat Fred had mounted up. Everyone needs to calm down a little and give them some time to see what they can do. This season's already a write-off so there's no hurry to even get an appointment before the end of the transfer window. If we end up with MacLaren, I'll be the first to get annoyed. But at the moment we haven't so there's no need to worry yet.
  22. He's posting that so often I'm starting to think Keith Armstrong is his dad.

  24. That's a big worry. Can't see any of the A-list lot like Lippi or Mourinho etc taking us on now. (Not that I'm claiming Mourinho would have come anyway mind... I just think it's even more unlikely now.) Hughes or Jol probably the best of the available, realistic candidates. Though Hughes has ruled himself out, so that leaves Jol. Anyone else would be a total shambles.
  25. At least on a positive note it looks like it means anal was talking rubbish about someone calling him for mort's number!
