  1. That's the problem though, we can only loan people until their contracts expire because nobody is going to want to buy anyone we've got. Fucking hell it gets worse looking historically. The last 3 players we've sold for any decent amount? Ayoze Perez Alexander Mitrovic Mikel Merino That's how shit our squad is and has been for the last 5 years or so, we've had nobody anyone wants since we had a purge after our last relegation.
  2. Who are we going to sell? Nobody will pay us for the players we won't register, and they're likely on PL wages so will be really hard to shift even for free. The only players anyone will want to take are those who are very important to us.
  3. This. They'll play it clever, keep him shy of the appearance trigger and send him back. We're then left with a keeper a year older, a year further away from last being first choice, and with a year less on his contact. Meanwhile we weaken ourselves and strengthen them. Feels like a really shit deal for us. Money up front or GTF.
  4. I just watched a YouTube video titled something like "Chris wood 50 goals for Burnley" for research, and (only watching half arsed) I think there were 18 headed goals and 6 penalties, meaning 26 non-headed open play goals? So a very decent percentage headers, and of the rest a great number we're knock downs from other headers, or balls that broke loose after being pumped into the box. That said, he doesn't look as mobile with us. Maybe there's a combination of factors but he's being asked to play differently and it's clearly not to his strengths.
  5. He's clearly not good enough, but a lot of the problem is we don't play the kind of football he needs to be effective. He needs high balls slung into the box that he can attack and we just don't play that way. I'm not suggesting he'd be a good player if we did that, and I'm certainly not suggesting we should change our style of play to accommodate him. I'm just saying we're not exactly giving him a chance to shine when we play needing a mobile forward who can play on the deck and he's a big target man who relishes high balls.
  6. He's just about ok, but just about ok isn't good enough.

And I suppose every time the boos rang round when the players took a knee, it wasn't because they're a bunch of Neanderthal intolerant racists, it was because someone in one of the stands was on their phone looking at as photo of Jimmy Hill?
  8. I guess there's an element of that, but we should at least demand £5m. I doubt we can replace him for less than that.
  9. Since they were spiteful little bitches with us, we absolutely should do the same back. It's not like we'd even be doing it over someone with no value to us - playing our second choice keeper could be necessary and Dubravka is much better than Darlow. Overall though, fuck em.

Oh I don't doubt that he was correct at some select point in history. But he doesn't have a time machine. Chelsea are massive now, Sunderland have been rotting in L1 for years. And that's it, isn't it? No matter how long they bob about in the lower leagues, in their eyes it doesn't diminish their size - Exactly the metrics they judge other clubs by. Weirdos.

The hilarious thing about the "bigger than villa" claim is that most of them were actually sensible and shot down the idiots, saying that yes villa were clearly the bigger team - one comment which drew a lot of likes way that Sunderland have only played in Europe 4 times yet Villa have done loads and have actually won a European competition. The reason this is hilarious is that not one of them would ever concede we're bigger than Sunderland, despite all of the descriptions of why villa are bigger also applying to us. One of them even claims they were bigger than Chelsea though which was just the funniest thing I've read in ages.

They'd think Real Madrid are a step down.
  13. People posting formations upside down will be first against the wall come the revolution. Strikers at the top, goalie at the bottom please. That way the left-sided players are on, you know, the left?

Wants to move to a bigger, more ambitious club. Can't blame him, seems fairly clear to me.

Don't mock him for that. We'll all be doing it this winter.

Yeah because so many other clubs are paying for their fans' gas bills instead. Fucking doylums.

It's not a bad way to finish the working week and enter into the bank holiday weekend.

OK, let's get back to Isak, enough with the pictures of Ryan Fraser's last fancy dress outfit.

The optical zoom only kicks in after a certain time - And it's not when you think. If you zoom from 1x up, slowly, it'll not switch immediately to optical and will instead use digital zoom initially. You can prove this by putting your finger over the lens in question and zooming, it'll stay obscured until it jumps to the other camera to use the "proper" optical zoom past a certain point. On my Pixel 6 Pro I've just done this now, and the jump was at 7x zoom when zooming in, meaning everything up to that point was digital zoom despite the phone having "4x optical zoom" which is where you might expect it to jump, that is if you weren't expecting it to use optical immediately and up to 4x, which it does not. Then zooming back in again, it stayed on optical from 7x down until 4x zoom, then jumped back to digital. The optical zoom when in use is great, but it's not in use when you'd think it is. Also, the optical zoom is fixed length, it can ONLY do 4x. It cannot do 2X or anything like that (hence why it starts on digital), and when it did 7x on my phone just now that was 4x on Optical and the rest digital. This isn't specific to the Pixel range by the way, my old Xiaomi Mi 10 Note Pro did exactly the same. As long as you understand the way the zoom works and work within it, you can get great results.

You mean digital zoom, which is just a crop of the larger picture and is a complete waste of time. Optical zoom can be great. Though clearly not as good as on a dedicated SLR.
