Totally different attitude and motivation to Pardew. Wasn't scared to go at other teams and saw defending as a lower priority to raping teams. You knew when we got our first 2 goals we would really start to play and destroyed teams at times. Probably true to a point. The club don't value cup runs or a second tier European tournament because they don't generate enough revenue. They've made that clear. You're absolutely right. Not that I disliked either of them as well, the opposite is true. It's been debated before but Robert wouldn't have got into Pardew's team and been seen as a luxury that couldn't be afforded, despite him being one of the best players in the league under SBR. You just have to look at him under Souness to see that. I don't want HBA to defend. I want the less capable players to cover for him and allow him the freedom to get on the ball and motivate him to push forward. Happy to score 6 and concede 5 than to score 0 and concede 4. Having HBA just hanging around in their half all game immediately draws out 2-3 of the opposition players.

It's good you called him out on the facts . I find it unbelievable that professional footballers and managers do not see what is right in front of their eyes, absolute shocking performances. These people must watch other teams play and see that the way we play does not compare. Other teams have a drive to them, an actual game plan, fluent football and appear setup correctly. They tend to be let down from not having a decent goalscorer or shoddy defences. We have goalscorers but don't bother giving them the chances and on paper a decent defence that look clueless and fall apart all to easy at times. Coaching, Tactics, Formation and repeat.
