Positive article: "Fuck off will it happen". Negative article: "That's it then, set it stone". Must say I'm starting to join the masses in frustration of fuck all going on. I decided I'd give it a while before I start throwing toys out but I expected something concrete to have happened by now.

He does actually look like something between Souness and Ashley. There's a definite hint of both in there.

The internet's full of cunts! /kickswashbin

So up and down. Give it a chance man, let it play out. McClaren is in his first week of the job. I know, literally nothing has been said about it and people have gone from excited to defeated on account of days passing by

Read that yesterday. Don't always agree with them but I do like to hear what they think.

I recall his substitutions being quite predictable in a lot of games particularly towards the end of his time with us. Was often bang on the 75th minute, 3 substitutions. That was just a double bluff, everyone was expecting him to make the subs, so he did,................ genius. Had me fooled.

White and gold Piss off with that

Is it pink or red... and is it navy blue or black? Red and navy blue please, but I think it's black.

Revolting? Such a massive over reaction, just like to every one of our kits. I actually quite like that.

That is a bit shit, and will be very pissed off it that happens

So if you apply for 2 tickets, there's a chance you could just get one ticket?

Nah, I mean if Ashley somehow has had a stroke and changed his ways and all of that actually happened I'd be willing to support the club again. But it's never going to happen is it, so what's the point? Do we really need to suffix everything we say on this forum with "it's never gonna happen" etc, I'm pretty sure we can all work out what's hypothetical and what's not. Particularly in a thread called "Imagine" Sorry... pet hate. Sorry, but that's what happens after all these years. Even in this thread, it's still going to end with never gonna happen.

You know what'll happen, we'll probably line up strong in the early rounds and still go out. Got first round exit written all over us after the statements

It's an interesting question actually. I get the impression that the damage caused by Ashley is irreparable in the eyes of many. If we suddenly invested heavily, played decent football and ultimately won a trophy, would the damage be too far done that it would still all be very bittersweet as it was done under Ashley?

So far we've done all of the right things since the season ended, but the things we've done so far haven't required sticking hands too deeply into pockets, so there's a long way to go.

I'm fairly happy about this, particularly since he's bringing in his own staff. I guess I'm slightly biased since my mate supports Derby and always rated the way he had Derby playing. The board changes are interesting, and hopefully a positive since there will be people that actually know something about football up there, but we shall see. Also interesting that they communicated it. Whilst I'm satisfied with the appointment, as others have said, it won't mean anything if he receives the same level of backing/ambition shown previously; we'll know whether Ashley's words had any merit before a ball is kicked in August.

Why not just have it at quarter past? What?
-
Why not? You don't think McClaren would want the right staff alongside him? Allardyce supposedly had a team of 40 when he was here. I would think a manager who is serious about his job would want the right people around him. Are there even 40 people employed by us inclusive of playing staff now?
-
I must say, whenever I think of the likes of Aarons, Ayoze, and Cabella under the prospect of a competent (albeit as-discussed-at-length underwhelming) manager, I do get almost a slight twinge of excitement.
