Hello Teddy, Welcome back. I can imagine it is tough feeling like you are in the centre of a pack of wild animals who are circling around you, closing in, looking for a point of weakness so they can pounce.... Most people on here are going to treat you well and with respect as long as you do the same. Of course there will be some sniping, you may call in banter or you may see it as baiting for a reaction.... all amounts to the same thing. It is always fine with us to have an opposing fan in the group to add some flavour and alternative opinion. Hopefully you last a bit longer than last time and have slightly thicker skin for the banter...

May I be the first Old Bastard to say no thanks to this....

That is interesting. Of course we would have many more issues to deal with here, aside from the safety aspect.... Some people in existing seats inside of potential standing proposal areas will not want to stand and they would need to be moved so somewhere that is agreeable to them... It is impossible to please everyone though.

To be honest - I think you are right. I was speculating on the reintroduction of terracing (which will almost certainly never happen)
-
The thing with this design is that it includes 32k standing supporters, aside from this not being likely to be approved these days we could get more than that number standing with the current design if they took out the seats, in the lower parts of the stadium and replaced it with terracing, like the good old times. Has anyone been into the City Hall for a gig when the "stalls" seating is removed? It is bloody great!

Has anyone noticed how easily players get past him with the ball? A simple drop of the shoulder or a step over and he is done. When we do corners or free kick set pieces and leave him as last man I find it terrifying.... He was awful today, not just his poor shooting. Pretty much everything was desperately bad.

At least all that lobbying to Sky is paying off for them with another appearance for them today.
-
The thing with these 10k free half season tickets that they fail to understand is that once that season was over the holder had to pay for it in order to renew for the next. I can say from a number of conversations that some of them genuinely believe these 10k seats were free tickets for life. Some of them told me they know people who now have a free ticket to watch "the Mags" for life..... brain dead the lot of them, lies repeated enough times become facts!

Not sure where to put this question - I hope a few people see it in here and can help / answer. Has anyone tried to listen to radio commentary while watching the game live in the ground? I go to the match with my dad and his eyesight is poor so I was wondering if I got him a small radio with headphones whether he could listen to the commentary while watching the game so he can understand who has the ball, who has scored etc. I am just starting to realise how much he actually missed, basically he sees practically nothing. Is the radio commentary and the live action reasonably in syncronisation or is there a rubbish delay?

I have not been looking forward to going, the atmosphere is usually quite weird for cup games but, since this morning I have been buzzing about tonight. I cannot wait. I might have a spare ticket, it is a senior / concession but, they don't seem to care at the gate. I will know in about an hour if it is spare. If anyone wants it reply or DM me. Currently it is only a "maybe free" - need to wait until my son gets home from school.

Unlikely to be too much of a feeewwwm over that as it is a rather lengthy read and full of facts, facts are generally overlooked by your RTG mackem in favour of their own twisted, misinformed and often fictitious versions of their truth.

Got it. I hadn't seen the notes associated with that sketch. No matter what, it does look pretty amazing. The Gallowgate is realistically the only part of the ground with any sort of potential to increase the capacity. A 90degree flip would allow for a lot of additional capacity as well but, that is a very disruptive option meaning we would have to play all our home matches somewhere else for a long time. We dont just have Wembley on the door step like the Spuds!

That just looks the same as currently except they filled in the Strawberry corner. Probably only add a thousand or two seats.

I am in Row M of the upper East Stand, that is about 3/4 the way towards the back. Having another tier above would not be too much of an issue unless it has pillars and other support structures that would obstruct the view.

Why can they not understand that 99% of this countries population do not know anything about their existence or - more importantly - care about their struggle to be recognised.... Think of the North East, think of Newcastle.... it is as simple as that. Just adding to this by means of the edit... Think of the South East and more often than not people think of London, not Leyton or Charlton... yes those towns are in what could be considered Greater London but, no-one defines themselves by them. Sunderland by definition are therefore in Greater Newcastle.... I wonder how they would cope with that concept??
-
Would we also be equally excited to discover it? As a none Twitter user could you give the gist of it please?
-
Shewerlee they are claiming a great win for Sunderland, the city, the people, the area and have started planning a statue for Jill Scott after she won I'm a Celebrity last night.

I listened to it and I am pretty shoo-wer he says "gaaan Gewch dwop him!"

Went to see James Bay last night, a few early references to his support towards Newcastle United but, said that he understood that there would be some people in "from the other side" which was met with a few quiet grumbles. Came back on for his encore in an old Greenalls Black and white top circa 1990. What a bloke!! Also by the way - excellent live!

Respected throughout football marra.

But, once you've been a lad, you are always a lad... Right?
-
I have a possibility of a spare in East Stand for you. It is a junior ticket as my son looks like he cannot make it (playing away at Everton in the day and unlikely to get back in time). I will know for sure by Wednesday morning and if you don't mind risking it on a junior ticket - although I don't think they check anything other than the light going on at the turnstyle. Let me know if you would be interested, I do not need anything for the ticket, would just prefer to see it being used.

What a fantastic dilemma for a mackem... what do they hate more? Their recently acquired hatred of the Saudi regime or their more deeply rooted hatred for all things Newcastle United

Second comment tells you all you need to know. "Sounded great on the tele"
